New MLB caps. See it to believe it.

I would've LOVED to have been in the room when whoever had this idea very first presented it.

I have no words.

Didn't you get the memo, only clashy-colored caps can get the youngins to look up from the Tick Tox and Instafaces

I think these are just ugly stuff to sell as opposed to things to be worn on the field, and they've been doing that for a while. I suppose this is less ugly than a red Giants hat or a black and orange A's hat! Or no uglier anyway.

Someone like....

"Okay, okay.....here me out.....okay...we take major league ball caps....ok, wait....we take major league ball caps....(pause for effect) and we make them with Big League Chew flavors! ......Huh?! Huh?! Yeah?! Huh?!"

The board room breaks out into thunderous applause!

I dig some of the green and purple ones. They just make no sense if they're not even somewhat similar to the colour schemes you're used to for a team. I suppose there's always someone who will buy weird stuff though.

Let me simply state that Jim Bouton (Ball Four) was a co-creator of Big League Chew, and made millions from it.

I run into a lot of people who wear MLB caps simply for the colors on them while having no loyalty to the team on the hat. These caps simply make me think of that. Someone, not me, will like the colors and will wear them for the colors whether they do or do not support the team. I don't have to like everything that's out there even if I understand why it might be.

If I had gum in my mouth when I was a kid, it was Big League Chew. Original or grape.

Oh yeah those look horrible and I definitely didn’t just buy one to represent a garish, futuristic vision of the Seattle Mariners…

Gross.

Big G.

Big ROSS.

Just yesterday I watched a Twinkies-Red Sox game where the Sox wore their nonsensical yellow and blue City Connect crap again. It horrifies me, time and again. (The Gnats' edition from that series so far are the only ones that look even halfway decent.) But this is even worse, somehow.

...when they play underwater after the sea levels have mercifully risen far enough to consign all those ghastly hats to the ocean floor?

Ghost Mr. Met is one that will give me nightmares. Like seriously. What the actual brimstone is this stuff??

I want some of what the designers' been smoking.

I freely admit that I have occasionally ditched one cap for another (I wear baseball caps 24/365 except when Mrs Gruber drags me out to fancy restaurants) due to not wanting to cause a clash with the rest of the outfit.

I'd have to buy some different clothes to go with most of these bad boys though, gotta say.

And Westheim - stop casually sinking Seattle.

Not to trivialise people's baseball pet peeves, but... they're caps

I rarely wear hats but when I do I like them to be of defunct teams, out-of-date logos, and defunct ideas. One of the Mariners options has a trident so that's 1 out of 3 right there and in around 6 months it'll be a 2 out of 3. That's what I call a win-win.

I had a Brooklyn Dodgers hat for a while but people thought it was a Red Sox hat and that made me want to barf.

Um, pass? Unrelated but I had a good friend in high school named Akiko who bought one of those old school Braves hats with the lower case "a" on it. I don't think I could ever bring myself to wear a hat from Jacksonville (my first name starts with a J) but that's a cool idea if you have a good first name, for instance one that begins with an M.
