I reported this to Markus when I was using the preview beta. If you sign a contract with them you will be fired a few games into the next season.

It is a bug, and should be fixed very soon. :)

I ran into this once. I cut a player from my team and took the salary hit. It cost me, but freed up enough money to sign a coaches and a scout.

I don't know about the salary cap, but I moved the team maximum to 10 mill and when I put it on Manager mode it reverted back to 5 mill.

I thought if you put it on manager mode it had set salary...
