Major League Women's Baseball (OOTP23) Quickstart

I started this league in OOTP23, it's now a OOTP24 quickstart with history spanning from 1962 to the 1988 season, with you able to pick it up and run the league into the 90s and beyond! .

Heights and Weights are cosmetic, so I made no attempt to fix those. There might be a stray dude name in here, but you can always edit those pretty easily.

The OOTP24 version is at 136 games in the regular season, we have 16 franchises split across 2 divisions.

As it turns out, I didn't reset the player creation modifiers (I did, but the changes didn't take) so the first wave of players are major league replacement level, but you could fix those (As I did in my personal save) and future ones will be worse generally, which in some ways is better for a long-term save storyline anyway.

My 24 update will be simmed further along into the future (my goal is to integrate this league into my existing OOTP24 save which is currently in the year 2052 or something, so I've got a while)

But we'll be able to judge future eras of players against the ones that seeded the league, so that has some value.

If want to diversify the geographic player names, I just move players to other places and change their first names, it's tedious but generally speaking it works otherwise. Thanks to the folks who made the original and updated names file and added women to the omnibus file we've been using for years, it made this relatively seamless to do.

We've just gotten past the 1988 season, all-time great Candy Ashworth and her 10 MVPs, 728 career HRs has retired. I really ratcheted down the overall ratings of the league over the last decade, so if you want to see what it's like to play in a league where somebody with a 4 or 5 (out of 10) in skillsets is a worldbeater, this is your league.

We're currently at 16 teams, I'll continue to expand my own universe, but figured I'd share the OOTP24 edition, now that I've been playing in that one.

Glad to see this league and associated threads, and let it stand to show the developers that many people have interest in them making other genders and pronouns available in future versions of the game.

For me not having the option to have non male players is a big flaw of ootp.

You can use the "erase history" from the league settings in OOTP that'll let you gut it all!

I will make a league template version of my current league (at 20 teams) and you should be able to do spin up a league in 2020 (I'm not there yet)

Here are two league templates for OOTP24 (i assume these work in older versions, too) one is from the earlier version of the file, the second is my current save that just finished the year 2000, there's a Korean league (with better talent fwiw) and an independent league, but the og version doesn't have that. This should let you import the structure in a new league or current save.

Thank you, i will try the Korean mod version and see if i can clean the history.

Do you mind if i edit a couple of teams myself? Im very particular over team names and dont like real life replicas, so want to change Baltimore?

I take it any logo will work with them?

Feel free to do anything you want with it! This was just a template to get folks going, but what you do with it after that is your business! I didn't think anyone but me would want to use this, haha.

League settings ---> Global settings --> Global actions --> Add template to game.

Save the template in your world_templates folder in OOTP

Thank yu for the work on the template file, this is exactly what I have been hoping to come across for the last few years. I have started working on changing the pronouns in the storyline and injury files. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find the templates for the scouting reports so I could change those pronouns as well?

Nevermid, I found the file I was looking for. In case anyone else needs it:

game directory/data/text/english.xml contains all of the text templates for in game plays, scouting reports, some post game news/reports as well.

OK, back to my editing now.

Here's a WIP version I mass edited in VS Code, didn't bother with any of the other details but maybe you're already there.
