BATS Under New Management and Looking for New Blood

BATS currently has 9 openings as we near the 2008 season.

The Cleveland Indians are in need of new owner. This ballclub is in average shape with a mix of young stars (Mauer), solid contributers (Hafner, Ludwick, McKinley) and prospects (Broadway, Szymanski) while having excellent financials. They made the playoffs in 2004 and have finished below .500 each of the next few seasons.

The Texas Rangers are in need of new owner. This ballclub is coming off a 2006 wildcard appearance with a strong mix of young veterans (Teixiera, Blalock, Wood, Greinke) and role players while having good financials. They made the ALCS in 2006 and have finished .500 or better each of the past two seasons.

The NY Yankees are in need of a strong owner. The Yanks have money to spend, but have lacked a good GM to put them in the position to contend.

Anaheim is looking for a new owner as well. The previous owner made great steps to fix the problems of past ownership, and look solid with a great young core.

Oakland still has a ton of talent, but lacks the leadership to make them a contender. Eric Chavez has won the MVP or has been a top candidate every year of the league.

Atlanta is on the upswing and needs a good GM to bring them to the top again. Good system and solid major league talent makes this a short rebuilding process.

Florida still has great young pitching and won the World Series a few seasons ago. The parts are still there, but missing a good GM.

Arizona has awesome young SP (Day, Bailey, Perkins) and youngsters everywhere with a solid foundation for the future.

LA has been a contender every season but one, and has Edwin Jackson who is the head of the SP class in BATS. No rebuilding is necessary here. The previous owner left you with a great major league team as well as a stocked minor league roster.

Good to see the league rebound following it's transition to a new Commish and new website.

Looking forward to Season 5.

Only ATL remains...which puzzles me. They were a solid team last season with very good youth (Zach Jackson, Jesse Foppert, Horacio Ramirez, etc).

Hurry before somebody else grabs them!
