Home Plate Baseball League needs two!

Hello!

Home Plate Baseball League (http://www.hpbl.pointatrad.com), originally a 2004 MLB player/team league, concluded the 4th season, the 2007 season, tonight. We've been around for over a year, starting in March of 2004.

We are currently looking for two owners who will become active, contributing owners to the league!

The first team open is the Florida Marlins. This is the 2007 National League Champions! This team has one of the best starting rotations in the league, and has a very deep minor league system with several players who could be good starters on other teams had they not be in the minors. This is also one of the fastest teams in the league. Two of their players has more than 70 steals, in Juan Pierre (93) and Luis Castillo (71).

Some of their other stars include...
Joe Kennedy - 22-5, 4.02 ERA in 2007
Dontrelle Willis - 19-7, 3.25 ERA in 2007
Chipper Jones .279, 37 HR, 101 RBI, hit home run #400 in 2007!

The other team available is the Boston Red Sox. This team has one of the best hitting squads in the league, but their pitching staff says otherwise. The pitching staff ranked near last in almost every catagory. The team is still re-buildable. They do also have a good minor league system to build off of.

Manny Ramirez - .323, 39 HRs, 124 RBIs, 1.005 OPS, 3rd place in American League MVP voting in 2007. 6 Home runs away from #500!
Rich Thompson - .341, 91 SB (1st in AL) in 2007

This league is NOT your run-of-the-mill OOTP online league. Here is why:

We ask that you include the essentials, such as your name, your e-mail address, AIM username (if you have one, though it is not a requirement), and a little about yourself. If e-mail isn't good enough, you may post a thread on out non-GMs forums here (http://hpbl.pointatrad.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=10).

We switch to 2008 on Tuesday night, so if you get in early, you can get your contract extensions done!

A copy of OOTP6 is a must!

We switched message board software from Ikonboard to vBulletin late in this season.

Just a note on the league's process to 2008, we will be delaying the conversion to 2008 for the time being as we work out some kinks. There is still time to apply for a team!
