crash entering 2nd season

My first season went by fine (I used the roster/save file posted in these forums) now I am about to begin simming games for season 2. Now when I load the game as soon as I hit something (any button on the screen) a Microsfot (In using Xp) popup says an error has occured. The sound config is off and I think this is the second time this has happened (after the first season).

What can I do/try?

Need lots more info, free HD space, other system info.

I really don't know why more info is needed, as this problem has been brought up so many times in the last 2 months it is obviously not system specific.

However if it helps, I am experiencing the same problem on 2 different systems. One is a Viao desktop with 512mb ram, 1.8ghz processor, and about 7 gig free on the HD. The other is a Presario notebook with 512 mb, 2.1ghz processor, and 14 gig free on the HD.

I've tried turning the sound off, disabling the virus protection, etc. Bottom line is it keeps happening, and I'm tired of trying to get OOTP to work anymore. I've had to go back to OOTP5, and recently have been playing around Puresim too. OOTP6 is one big crash-fest after the start of season 2.

Well, one reason is that I have simmed many, many, many seasons and in 3 years(versions) I have had one issue of this nature. I cannot duplicate it so the next step is for me to gather as much info as possible.

Issues like this can be caused by a million different things, from fragmented files, virus infection, spyware, hardware issues, software conflicts, etc etc.....

Also, IF this is happening with a "roster set" and NOT a game generated league then that opens up a whole additional area of issues which might be the cause. Also, if it is happening with only one league or with EVERY league is another concern. So just giving very basic info is oftentimes only the starting point of finding the cause of a problem.
