Logos without city names?

Does anyone besides me see a need for a logo set that does not include city names in the logo?

Let me explain...

I'm working on coming up with ideas for a new solo fictional league. I've come up with cities and am working on nicknames for each team. I've seen some GREAT logos on here for nicknames that I might want to use, but the logos include a city different from the cities that will be in my league.

I've been thinking that if there were a set of logos that didn't include the city in the graphic then anyone can use them.

For example if I one person is going to have the Washington Senators in their league and has a logo created that says, "Washington Senators" on it. Then someone else that is going to have the Harrisburg Senators in their league, they would have to have a new logo made.

If there was a set of logos created with just the nickname "Senators" in the graphic. Then both of those leagues could use the same logo.

What do you all think? Is there any demand for this? (or does it already exist?)

It seems that I had a set of "generic" logos that just had team nicknames on it somewhere. I'll look for it and get back to you.

Personally, I like to have the city name and the nickname on my logos.

And it seems to me that most of the requests here for logos include the city name.

I have seen some logos that just have a figure or emblem with no city name or nickname...I think Kelric was the one who posted them and they might be on JoeRock's great site for OOTPB downloads.

Do a poll and see what is preferred by Forum members.

If there is a demand, maybe one of the logo designers will create a series like that with no city name.

I'm working on a set right now for a fictional league that has very few if any city names. Most are just logos with no writing at all. I basically just used minorleague and OOTP board images.

Personally I like having logos that aren't just city name, nickname, photo. A lot of the MLB logo sets just use a hat emblem, like the Braves A or the infamous interlocking NY, and I try to shoot for something that has the same feel to it. I'm not good at making logos, but I can edit out city names and nicknames if that would help, and I can send you the ones I've finished so far (about 20).

Some time ago I had been organizing a collection of logos, and putting them into groups of city, letter, and picture and I plan to use them in the next version of OOTP (nearly 30 leagues means LOTS of teams).

There are plenty of good logos to be had; for instance, while I haven't updated the bunch in quite some time, after a quick check I had already organized 172 picture-only logos. None of them are my work so I won't be publishing or distributing the logo sets, but they're defintely out there for you.
