The End of An Era

Gentlemen(and Ladies)

The end of a great era has occurred. The John Ruiz era officially ended this Saturday as James "I didn't put his lights out but I would've if I would have trained harder" Toney defeated John to become the true heavyweight champion. John has given us plenty to talk about in his reign as two time heavyweight champion. Noone can forget how he wiped out the divisions elite with wins over Holyfield, Kirk Johnson, Fres Oquendo, Hasim Rahmen, and Andrew Golota. Noone will forget his monumental (but losing) effort in facing Roy Jones Jr. It was a great era and I want to say to John and Norman Stone.... thankyou. It was truly a pleasure watching a great champion like Ruiz represent the heavyweight division as its champion over the past 6 years. Ruiz was ducked and dodged by Lewis, Bird, and Klitchko and its not his fault he couldnt add those names to his list of victories. Unfortunately thats the sport of boxing and their is nothing we can do about it. However, I would like to say that I will never forget Ruiz ripping apart like a crazed barracuda Evander Holyfield. It truly was special watching him beat that two bit punk all around the ring not once but twice. John, your the man. Thanks for all you've done for the division. Its been great. Thanks for keepin it real when noone else would. Your time is up and its now on to Toney to continue the rich legacy of John "The Destroyer" Ruiz.

I think Tyson fan is probably John Ruiz's cousin or Norman Stone himself cause nobody duck John Ruiz he was just never worth a damn thing to fight why would fight Ruiz for such little gain and maybe Lewis or other champions would have fought Ruiz to unify the title if he wasnt busy being disgarded by an aging Holyfield and another former middleweight named Roy Jones Jr. Ruiz was a good man but the true heavyweight champ or a great fighter that is an overstatment that i dont think Ruiz himself would make it.

I'd be surprised if thebadguy didn't turn up somewhere in this thread. After all, last month, when I asked where the two of them had gone, TysonFan stated that he had no hard feelings towards thebadguy, and that he wanted to leave their differences in the past. Now, he calls Holyfield a "two bit punk". That's bait, if ever there was.

I agree with you kenyan calling Holyfield a two bit punk truly shows that Tyson Fan doesnt know what he is talking about, i honestly think with that last statement he had to be pulling our chain but who knows he could honestly believ John Ruiz is a great fighter????

First off Ruiz did state that he was the true heavyweight champion. He did it in an interview that was posted on both Fightnews.com and Boxingtalk.com. In it he called out all the other champions and declared himself the only real champion. And for the record Ruiz did not get beat around by Holyfield. He beat Holyfield convincingly twice. (I know the second one was a draw but find 1 person other than the badguy who actually thinks Holyfield even came close to winning that third fight. That draw was another example of the disturbing pattern that has developed with judges trying to save Holyfields career by giving him draw decisions). Ruiz was a great champion. He beat top rated fighters and he never turned down a fight. Not to many of the current champs can lay claim to that. I mean look at Byrd. The guy bitches more than he fights. Ruiz was the man. Now Toney's the man. Saturday was the coronation of the new king of the division. Ruiz should be given more respect for his accomplishments in the ring. Instead he is disrespected continuously. And that is the reason Ruiz fans like myself are being robbed of ever seeing the Great Ruiz in the ring again. Its truly sad. A Ruiz-Tyson fight would have been huge and it looks like we may not get to see it. Thats the sad part.

TysonFan himself doesn't even believe in what he is saying. All he wants to do is get a few people upset and shake the board up a little bit... thats all. Well, FU(K him!!! He isn't worth the time... never has been. I just wish his daddy had pulled out a little earlier.

TysonFan doesn't think Ruiz is a great fighter! He just gets a kick out of us arguing with him and giving him attention. He is winning... until we no longer view or reply to his remarks.
