Post Rare plays?

If you've had any rare plays, please post them here. The only one I've seen so far is catcher's interference. I'd be interested in knowing what else can happen.

Cool

My pitcher, Mark Wohlers, gave up a homerun. Then, he plunked the next batter, Corey Koskie. Koskie charged the mound and decked Wohlers, after which, both benches cleared. Koskie and Wohlers were ejected. Haha!

Regards,

Ha that's awesome! We should find some site that can store screenshots of these.

I played against Wohlers in high school once, I took 3 90+ mph fastballs and sat back down

Not rare, but I brought up a 20yr old (yes 20, injuries, injuries), his first game was against the Mets and he gets a double. On the next play my next batter hits a single and I send the rookie home - He barrels into Piazza and breaks Piazza's collarbone, out for several weeks!

Welcome to the bigs, youngster!

The unique things I've had happen are catcher's interference and a batter ejected for arguing balls and strikes.

i dont think this is the kind of rare event you are lookin for but it is extremely rare in MLB...i hit two homeruns in the same inning with Jason Giambi! both were two run shots.

i ended up scoring 9 in the inning and in the bottom half Boston scored 4 for a total of 13. i'm sure that approached some record high in one inning combined.

I was the Marlins and was playing against the Braves. I was trying so hard to get ejected(arguing every call I had the chance). I finally got ejected in the 4th inning. I watched the rest of the game and Bobby Cox got ejected in the 8th inning. Both managers got ejected in the same game, not sure how often this happens in real MLB.

Not really rare compared to things like rookies breaking Piazza's collarbone, but it was really cool(and excruciatingly painful) when, in the bottom of the twelfth against the Reds in a 4-4 game, Corey Patterson nailed it. The PbP said(paraphrased) "Back... Back... It's gone if it stays fair. It is... FOUL!"

I fell out of my chair in agony. Bill Mueller hit a homer the next inning and it ended Cubs 5-Reds 4, but that was a tense experience.

Had an interesting play (solo career game):

I'm Detroit (pitching), KC 1 out, man on first. Batter hits chopper to 2nd base, maybe a double play. 2nd baseman fields, throws to SS (covering 2nd) for first out, but Devi Cruz cannot turn it, so they get one.

Wait, Umpire signals interferance -- now that's a rare call! 3 0ut, inning over.

I've had a runner thrown out at first from right field after an apparent single. RF had 'A' arm, with 'E' runner, too ... wasn't like it was the other way around, y'know?

Ball jarred loose in home-plate collision.

Ricochet off P to 2B, field to 1st, out. P hurt once, not another.

Oh. Sorry. These were OOTP3 ... just can't imagine they've been taken out ...

I just had Edgar Alfonzo slip on wet field because of rain allowing an error that gave me a game winning run

Not sure if you'd consider this more a rare feat than a rare play, but anyhow, i just had a player on my team hit for the cycle twice in 3 games. Probably something that's never happened in real life, that's for sure.

Yeah, I've also noticed that the cycle seems to be more common than it should. It's not a ridiculously high number, but three players hit for the cycle in my 2002 season(Juan Pierre, Sammy Sosa, and Nomar Garciaparra), and somebody else has hit on so far in my 2003 season.
