Funny quip from Twins manager

For the first time this season, Gardenhire will let Mauer catch three days in a row, ending with tonight's game at the Metrodome against Kansas City. Gardenhire also said four days in a row will be an option, provided they are all night games. "He's made the statement that he's ready for it," Gardenhire said. "I told him, 'No problem, and when we get home tonight -- and you feel good in the morning -- you can come over to my house and mow my lawn.'

"There's always room for people who want to do more. Keeping my wife off the tractor is great."
