Major Problem

I just got the game and it freezes A LOT. I try to sim and it wont let me it freezes, sometimes when I'm trading it freezes. What should I do. If it doesnt work I want my money back.

I'm just going to save Steve the time and post his usual question here. What type of computer are you running? What kind of processor, RAM, HD space, etc. Give us some specifics. Also, when you say freeze, be more specific and include screenshots if possible.

More than likely one of the following is the problem:

-The same position is listed twice in the lineup.
-The same player is listed twice in the lineup.
-One position is missing.
-An "injured" pitcher is scheduled to start a game.

I have a Vaio. I'm not all computer techy so i dont know that stuff. How do i find out?. When it freezes a mesage comes up saying:

Do you have sound for the game on?

If so, it may crash games after they are completed.

VERY FRUSTRATING thing alot of us are going through..........

Well, as I shared above the issues I listed before solved 90-95% of the lockups, outside of that I do not know.

Huh? It also freezes when I view Top spects, top minor league systems.

No help, but same problem. except I just started September. No problems all season, but in simming a week that moved into September the sim stopped in the middle of a day. six games completed, but it won't start again. I've tried at least a dozen times

One change to my computer was a security upgrade from microsoft that rebooted my computer yesterday. I don't know if this is significant or not. I have run into Security programming causing conflicts with OOTP(5&6) before.

All my team line ups appear to be OK and I'm doing a historical league and not allowing injuries so none of Steves suggestions seem to apply to my problem either

Don't give up to easy. Someone will solve this

Did it reboot while OOTP was open? If so, there is a chance that your league got corrupted. Unfortunately, if this is the case, there isn't much you can do about it.

If it "stops in the middle of a day" as you say I'd be willing to bet that it IS one of the things I listed......not necessarily the one you mentioned however.

You are absolutely right. I did find a player listed more than once in a line up. I guess I just got careless and didn't check the vs left handed batting orders.

Does this happen with ALL leagues? A certain type of league, etc? You need to try every type of league and let me know.

It's a daunting task to check every lineup and pitching rotation. If this is just your solo league try:

1. Make a backup of your league and tuck it away in a folder somewhere other than inside the OOTP6 folder.

2. Fire up OOTP6

3. Go to the League Setup page and then click "Run computer manager on all teams" This should take care of lineups and pitching rotations.

4. Now try to run something. If everything o.k. now, Steve would be right. If not, try disabling any security or anti-virus software. They frequently cause problems for the game. If you are paranoid about security, temporariliy disconnect your pc from the internet.
