Question about Cato...
OK, what I want to do is start a league in 1905, sim about 100 years and take over a team. Before I do this, I'm just curious if I'll be able to run Cato on the 100 years that I'll be simming. Anyone try this before? Thanks in advance for any help.

I believe phenom covered his century-or-so long sim with CatoBase. Even if that is not right, I'm most certain somebody has done it.
I think the best way to do it is to import the stats after each season, then run the HTML creation at the very end since that part will take a long time. Not being able to just run the 100 years of simming all at once like overnight (or a couple) because of the need to pull out the data from each season makes the process slow, though it also allows for opportunities to create backups. The importing goes quickly, so you can jump to the next season in the game in rapid order. It takes about 4 minutes I think for my 12-team league, then the HTML takes almost 2 hours as I am just past the 33rd season. How big a league are you planning on? I've been curious to see how much turning off box scores now added with 6.12 can speed up simming a season. |
