Smile West Coast Baseball League ends 1st season, has many openings!

The West Coast Baseball League, a v6.12 league, follows the "what-if" scenario in which the Major League Baseball owners and the Players Association does not agree to a new CBA in August of 1994. Farther apart then ever before, commissioner Bud Selig decided to fold the MLB. From there, four regional leagues forum, one, is the West Coast Baseball League, a league with fictional teams and fictional players.

After a rather long GM check, the following teams are open.
Seattle Storm - Had the largest payroll in the league at season's start but brought it down. Has a lot of high payroll players on this team, and could use some youth.
Prescott Pilots - Lost the division lead by just one game to the Las Vegas Stars. Had a slow start but heated up towards the end of the season.

If you like a great fictional league with a good batch of owners, and a solid financial and rule base, this is the league for you. We always love active owners who like to post a lot and write good articles. But if article writing isn't your thing, that is fine.

If you're interested, you are welcome to send the commissioner at commish@wcblbaseball.net, or post a thread in our Non-owners forum. Please include the essentials, like your name, e-mail address, AIM screen name (if you have one, it is not required), and a little about yourself. Please include a list of about 2-5 teams that you would interest you the most, highest first, and so on.

Please apply soon. We move on to 1996 on Wednesday! CATO Database is expected to be up and running when we do process to 1996.

Excellent league that is extremly well ran.
We just need some quality gms to take over some teams and be active within the leauge.

All of the teams open are quality clubs that just need good ownership.

I could not reccomend the league more highly.

Santa Cruz and New Mexico has new owners. Still looking for owners for the four above teams.

I drafted a pretty good team in this league.
I was active.
People were leaving in droves.
Commish booted me for some strange reason, kind of a hothead if you ask me, not commish-temperment.

I'm amazed it's still alive at all.

If you were booted it's because you didn't sign in for the GM check on the forum that he sent numerous emails about and left open for 2 weeks.

Get in on this league while you can folks it's a good one!

actually it involved another user who insulted me in the forums, and when I fired back, the blame was put on me.

i think the person running the league is a kid.

i prefer mature adult competition.

Raderick is a top notch commish. The WCBL has a solid foundation with some highly dedicated GM's. This is a great opportunity for someone who likes fictional leagues or has been thinking about joining one. You won't be disappointed with this one.

I knew it was time before you come here and start talking bad about my league all over again.

You'r attitude was out of hand, and the owners agreed with me. Your posting of an owner's PM to you was SO out of line, and violated his privacy.

You insulted the same owner when they couldn't draft at a certain time because he was at a funeral for a family member.

Back on a positive side...

We still need three teams, so this is your final chance to offer contract extensions before 8 PM Pacific tonight, when we process the league to 1996!

Cody/Raderick is one of the best commish's out there; I was in WCBL (the Frogs) but had to resign. I'm still in his other league, though, (HPBL) and it's great. He's top-notch and his leagues are as well.

We still need three owners. We just entered the off season, so now is the perfect time to get started in the league.

I signed up with the WCBL a few days ago and I am excited about getting it's second season started! I have been made to feel welcome and encouraged to contribute to the messageboards for my own enjoyment as well as (I hope) everyone elses.

Even if you do not write and just play for the love of the game then either way I have faith that this league will grow and be a joy to be part of.

The font of your website constitution is sooooooo small I can't even read it well. You really should increase that font for old man eyes. I was interested, but, if all the font is like that throughout the league in messages and such, I'd be blind by the end of the first season. heh

As a simple workaround, if you use IE, go to 'favourites', 'text-size', and then 'larger' or 'largest'. Still all fits in nice!

Lets give this a bump. The three above teams are still up for grabs!

The amateur draft starts on Saturday morning at 9 AM Pacific via message board, and free agency starts on Monday night!
