I have just finished the 3rd version of my DB...BUT... it is now brandnew as it is a combination of Ankits52 DB and my research.

Basically it's the best of both worlds. Players importing with the right years, with the right teams AND the statistical accuracy only Ankit can provide.

Gambo/Ankits ML database ver30

First off, I would like to thank Ankit and his supporters for putting
out their database. As you can tell from this readme, this is in large part an Ankit production.

This is my third attempt at such a database and I think it may be the last attempt I make from the ground up. I do not claim it be perfect but it is by far superior to any version I made before it. Much of that is thanks to Ankit.

This is the newest version of my database (a combination of my research and Ankit’s numbers). Using this database OOTP6 will import players whether they were in the majors or minor leagues and assign them properly to their correct organizations.

When creating a historical season each player whether he was active in the minors or majors will import in their correct organization and with their proper abilities. Each subsequent season, players will import during their pro debut year.

E.G. If you start from 1981, Reggie Jackson will be on the Yankees, Don Mattingly will be in their minors and the following season Fred McGriff will
Imports as a 1B to their team.

Changes made to Ankit DB5.2 to Make Gambo/Ankit3.0:

Exceptions in Database:
1. The earliest player in with minors stats is Early Wynn (1937). Pretty much from the 60s on it covers everybody who is included in Ankit52.
2. Players who were drafted by expansion teams in years before the big team started playing (e.g. Jared Sandberg will import in 1998, despite being drafted in 1996)
3. Numbers are approximated within the database. I used a scale from .63-.77 to create players based on Ankit Career Avergaes. When a player imports the year before they make their debut they are at .77 of their career average, they slide down as they get closer to their “pro” debut. Player fielding seems to be weird but as we know that is due to the games random generation of those ratings.
4. Players who spent a season as a free agent before their ML debut will be imported in the last organization they played for. (I did this due to the possible innacuracies of minor league records)

Also...
The next version will add in the players who missed various seasons due to minors/injury. That should be easy to add in and shouldn’t take long.

The version after that will include players who were deleted from Ankits DB. These players will be adjusted so that they will be marginal players with tendencies similar to their true production.

Last time I used this and wrote over Ankit's, I had NO players debuting in 1922
