Runtime C++ errors when loading or creating any league with 6.12

all leagues worked fine when in 6.11

made new directory for 6.12, renamed it OOTP 6 (6.11 directory was remnamed OOTP 611), and copied all files over to said directory. When I load any league or try to create any league in 6.12, it crashes during load or creation step. The exact same leagues work just fine in 6.11

All permissions are exactl the same, in game sound is off. So whats the deal?

Why are you copying all the files to a new folder?

All the patch does is replace the OOTP6.exe file, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm almost certain that copying to a new folder is what's screwing you up. I believe there is a tool floating around somewhere that allows you to switch between versions. At worst, you could probably just rename OOTP6.exe to OOTP6.exe.old before applying the patch and rename the exe files when you want to switch back and forth between versions.

{I posted this in your thread over at OTBA as well. Figure it would be best to put it in both places. PP's idea will work as well.}

CC, let's try things this way.

In your original OOTP6 Folder, rename the OOTP6.exe to OOTP6-11.exe. Then instal the patch and see if that works.

Then, when you need to use 6.11, rename the new OOTP6.exe to OOTP6-12.exe and rename OOTP6-11.exe back to OOTP6.exe.

This is prettymuch the easiest way to handle this situation unless you have 2 different computers with OOTP6 installed on them.

Or instead of renaming back and forth, you could create a shortcut to each exe file.
