Ping: database gurus
So, I'm here at work looking over the Win Shares spreadsheet that I got from BigCity (he's got it at bigcitybaseball, for those who are interested). I'm also looking over my Catobase mdb files, and noticing that most of the information I need is right there, waiting to be input into the Excel spreadsheet.
Now, in my heart of hearts, what I'd REALLY like is to have a utility that automatically can move the data from one file to the other. However, that can wait: my real issue is, where is the underlying data for the park factors in Catobase? I see the computed Park Factors in the TeamStats table, but is there somewhere where Cato put the runs/hits/home runs by park before doing this? I notice that most of the tables still have a lot of the interim data used for the calculations, but I can't find those particular fields anywhere. Failing this, can anyone show me how to set up a new table with the Cato info that calculates this information? If any of these questions are unclear, please let me know and I'll try to explain better. Thanks.
