Toadfreak's Rosters Updated

(1) Rosters have been updated to (3-21-05)

(2) 40-man rosters are accurate as of 3-21

(3) 25-man rosters are nearly accurate (I left some rosters at 23 or 24 to let the AI determine who it wants on Opening Day)

(4) Created 20 to 25 more prospects expected to have an impact this year.

(5) MLB official schedule included.

The new rosters will be on BaseballSimCentral.com by tomorrow. They're called Toadfreak's Rosters (3-21). Go get 'em!

BTW, if anyone knows how to fix the problem of displaying the correct players' stats from the previous year during the game, let me know. I have no idea how it's coming up with those numbers!

Thanks!

The missing players from the Mets 40-man roster have been fixed. Just download the latest rosters from www.ootpdownloadcenter.com.

40 man rosters for each team are now accurate with the new update on OOTP Download Center.

Bonds is also on the DL to start the season per the announcement he made today.

The hometowns will be fixed in the next update.

for some reasoon i cannot simulate any games with these rosters. i can get htem loaded up fine but as soon as i hit the sim button for the first game everything freezes.

anyone else having these troubles?

i started another league with fake players just to see if it has something to do with the 6.12 patch i just installed but the sim worked just fine.

also might want to adjust some of hte prospects talent ratings.

for felix hernendez (generally regarded as the top pitching spec) i ahve his talent at:

100-90-70 with a fastball, curve, change and slider

Sorry that you're having problems. I've tested it many times and have had a lot of success. Did you try downloading the new update off of ootpdownloadcenter.com? That's the newest one.

Thanks for the input on Hernandez. I'll probably leave his talent ratings alone because OOTP likes to give ratings bumps to young guys, so it will all work out later. Generally in test sims, he becomes a #1 starter pretty quick. Sim stats are Hudson-like.

no I don't know how to adjust current player stats--- cbl knew how to do it?

as far as rosters

SF

schmidt - throws harder than 87-90 -he gets up to 95 96

also his stamina is low - it should be higher\

after re-installing the patches i got it to work just fine.

however there seems to be a problem with player development. i simmed a season really quick to see how things would turn out and there is an abnormal amount of players taking talent hits (most of them are specs).

while i know it happens the number of hits is disproportionally large when compared to the number of talent boosts. don't know why that is happening. i di change some of the league settings and made it so that players develop faster but it might be having an opposite effect.

any suggestions?

Some notes from the Red Sox world you might want to change:

Adam Hyzdu to SD for Blaine Neal
Kevin Millar -> Great Leader, Loyal
Byung Hyung Kim -> Less control vs. Lefties
Maybe drop the control on Matt Clement
Bronson Arroyo has a nasty curve ball, and I was suprised not to see it listed. Same with Randy Johnson
I thought a 1 rating of Johnny Damon's arm was pretty harsh...I mean, I know hes no threat to throw home, but give the guy a little credit.

franco and dignan,

thanks for the suggestions. i've adjusted them now to your liking. I agree with everything you suggested. With 5,000 players, it's hard to get everything right.

The SD-Boston deal will be in the next release as well as the aforementioned adjustments.

Thanks!

Some minor problems from me too (can you tell I'm a Twins fan?):
1. Joe Nathan can get up to 99 MPH (He hit 101 last year)
2. Lew Ford's way to slow and a poor runner. In real life last year, I believe he got caught stealing once. He's just as fast as Rivas.
3. Stewart's speed is NOT 100! More like 69.
4. Silva's Stuff should be about 40, he gives up a ton of hits.
5. Pedro's endurance is way to high.
6. Manny's fielding is too good, and he doesn't strike out enough.
7. Gange's has one of the best splitters in the game, but he doesn't throw one on this set.
8. Joe Roa is starting the year in AAA, and Terry Muhlolland (whatever spelling) is on the MLB team.
H. LeCroy Clutch, IMO should be normal or great.
9. Jaque Jones is very inconsistent in real life.
10. Mike Cameron is waaay too good at avoiding strike outs.
11. After reading Moneyball, I refuse to believe that Jeremy Brown's eye talent is 60, same with avoiding K's.
12. Ichiro contact only 86?! More like 286!
13. Carl Crawford, arguably the fastest player in the majors, has speed of only 77.
14. No offence, and I'm not saying I can do better, but the minor league system is poorly put together. 40 guys on a single AAA team? That leads to no development. Could you even out all the teams?

Other than that, superb job.

Thanks Davey for the input. I agree with alot of your suggestions (I gave Stewart a speed in the 70s, but instincts in the 50s, because he is fast, just not a great basestealer) and they will be fixed in the new update.

As far as the minor leagues go, OOTP's A.I. roster management does that. I simply put in the ratings and for some reason it puts them in whatever level it chooses (i.e. Josh McKinley (WAS) shouldn't be in AAA according to his ratings or in real life even, but for some reason the A.I. keeps him there). Hopefully this is fixed in OOTP7.

All 25 man rosters will be accurate when my Opening Day Roster Update (due April 10th) comes out. So Roa and Mulholland will be where they should.

I'll try to fix the minors as best I can to even them out a little, but like I said above, the A.I. kinda stinks.

Thanks for all the input so far. Keep it up so that I can produce the best roster set for you guys!

Oh I see. Sorry then. If I knew the AI did it, I wouldn't have minded it. You come to expect that.

No problem. It frustrates me too, but I just have to deal with it. The result is that the A.I. releases some players on the first day of the season, but most of those guys stink anyway.

Hmm... It might just be mine, or maybe I'm missing something, but Moises Alou doesn't have any 2004 stats.

Edit: And John Franco and Andres Galaragga don't have ANY stats.

Is the schedule the constant.lg in the .rar folder? Do I install that the same way I installed the roster?

A stab in the dark, but maybe it's because they've played over 25 years?

The schedule should be included in the .zip file. If not, try downloading it again off ootpdownloadcenter.com.
