Developed players with talent hits

Does anyone have experience with a player with strong ratings (and stats) taking a talent hit?

The player in question is 28 with 6/6/9/5/5 ratings. He recently took a talent hit to 5/5/8/6/5.

Should I expect his overall ratings (and thus performance) to drop, or since he is already exceeding his talents, shoudl he remain about the same.

I know its not black or white, but just wondering if you have seen this before, and what happened.

I've seen this a few times, and yeah, usually his ratings will get dragged down too.

Treat this like your scouts are telling you that they think he's reached his potential. In effect, that's what is happening - he doesn't look like he's going to get any better, and maybe he wasn't quite as good as we thought he was...

It's possible that he might stay at his current ratings but the odds are they will drop to his new talents rather than go up.
