2005 Updated Rosters!!!!

I have completed my new roster set, up-to-date as of 3/9. I have set 25-man rosters as I forsee they will be. I have added a number of prospects from the last 2 years' drafts. I have adjusted a ton of ratings. I personally went thru nearly every player's stats the last 2 years and adjusted their ratings accordingly. I have updated contract extensions, rule 5 picks, but not the schedule. I also tweaked the broadcast revenues, fan interest, market, and fan loyalty.

Like halofan says, I have created ratings based on my opinion. There are no longer any players you've never heard of with 3-star ratings, or journeymen with high ratings. Some of the young players like Mike Hinckley, Swisher, etc, who are expected to break with the big club I have given ratings that I believe reflect how they will do this season. If you're getting weird stat results, please adjust the numbers in the league setup (engine setup). But I've gotten pretty good results.

Halofan has been kind enough to host the file. Go get it soon at www.simleaguecentral.com. But you have to REGISTER to download the file.

Please reply with any rating farts that are in the file. I'm sure I missed a handful of people that need adjusting.

Thanks, Christian

I'm having some technical issues right now getting the file to simleaguecentral. It should be up sometime today.

thanks.

some of the things I've noticed so far that you may want to change:

Danny Graves's endurance (lower it to keep him as closer)
Adam Dunn's contact rating (a "bit" too high, sorry about that one)
Scott Kazmir (may want to improve his ratings)
Kevin Mench (maybe the contact is a bit too high)
Dmitri Young's contact (a bit high vs. RHP)
Chris Burke's fielding rating (up it to about 65 to keep him in the starting lineup)

Also in the engine setup change HITS to 45400, and HRs to 5200. That should work better.

I've also found that 25% in each category of the AI modifiers works good.

Anything else, let me know and I'll compile everything and do an update in a couple weeks.

Do you mean the player creation modifiers or the player development modifiers?

Just want to let you know that Biggio is probably going to be the starting 2b for the Astros and Burke has been getting outfield reps. Also, Ausmus' defense is now worse than it was a couple years back, so his defense ratings should be in the 80's at most.

Overall I'd say you did an excellent job. My only gripe with Halo's set was the journeyman and unknowns suddenly making a huge impact, but you seem to have fixed that.

Thanks for your work, I can't wait to play it.

I meant the 25% in the modifiers labeled Ratings Weight, 2005 stats, 2004 stats, etc.

Also in my set I set the development speeds to 12%, but I'd change them to around 6% or 8%. But play with it yourself and see what's best.

Of course there's always going to be weird things since OOTP6's AI kinda stinks as far as roster management. I wish Markus would fix that.

Also included in the set is new Cardinal OFer Rick Ankiel!
