MVP 2005 Stadium Creator: Worth it for OOTP??

Hey gang,

Pinging all those with MVP Baseball 2005 and the new stadium creator. Do you have a vast array of options available? Can you really make drastic changes and create really unique parks?

Considering buying the game to use the stadium creator to make stadiums for OOTP....

I have not played it yet, but the trailer makes the stadium creator look fairly in depth.

I'm not sure about the PC version - but in the XBox version I found the stadium creator to be very disappointing. Much like the Madden football one that claimed thousands of options, but only gave you about 15.

the one caveat I will say is that at least as far as I could tell, you could only use in in Owner mode and as far as I got in owner mode I didn't have very much money to make a lot of changes. But even with the "grayed" out options it was very lifted.

for example - you would have liked to see something along the lines of the old earl weaver park creator where you could set the outfield distances and wall heights - so that you could create unique parks.

from what I saw you had 5 choices - something like symmetrical, high right field fence (think the green monster but in right) short fence and two other choices. basically a very limited number of options.

Don't get me wrong, I like MVP 2005 - it is graphically stunning and the player movements are incredible - but I was really looking forward to this feature and thus far have been pretty disappointed.

I follow up to my previous post and again just on the XBox - but they basically show EVERY option in the video - so it leavfs you with the impression that there are tons of choices - when in reality there are very few.

Ditto what has been said so far. MVP's stadium building options are very limited and, unless somebody publishes cheats fro MVP 2005, you'd have to play a VERY long time in owner mode to be able to build more than a minor league quality park. If all you're interested in is the stadium's, don't waste your money. If you like the MVP series, however, this is a good game otherwise.
