Logo Contest Week 7

Here we are, 35% done with our 20 logos. This one was probably pretty tough for our designers to come up with a unique design for. We still have some good looking work!

Should we ignore spelling as a consideration when voting? I know I will be in at least one instance.

I believe the confusion is that when the original post announcing this contest was made, the spelling was "Buckeroo" - see this thread. The common spelling I have seen is "Buckaroo", but I believe either way would be acceptable, and have voted as such.

It's not mine, but I thought Logo 3 would receive more votes thus far. It is a really nice logo. Probably my favorite.

Both spellings are listed in the dictionary...I would think either spelling would be fine.

I checked with the world-renowned and most famous Buckaroo of all...Buck Owens...great country singer of the '50s and 60's...and idol of Dwight Yokum...and Buck spells the name of his band "BuckAroos".

(I hope I spelled Yokum right)

Dictionary.com lists the two spellings synonymously. Honestly, I didn't even notice until DagY0 mentioned it.

My favorites are #11 and #13, but #3, #8, and #12 got my votes as well. In general, this is the hardest one yet for me to decide - I think our logo designers are really getting better as this goes on.... the difference between my favorites and those I didn't choose is much less than at the start of this contest, and I'd be happy with any of these as a logo.

Boy, that is weird...buckeroo/buckaroo has two spellings...and Fort Worth/Ft. Worth has two spellings...and we get this in the same week.

I'm really surprised that my logo has received as many votes as it has. I was not very pleased with it at all. I kinda threw it together at the last minute. Goes to show how hard each of us can be on our own work sometimes.

Question for jnshmoo:

Will there be three sets of logos?

I noticed you said 35% of the 20 logos in the first post.

The first poll has 14 logos...Part 1 and Part 2

Will there be Part 3 to vote on another group of logos in another poll...the remaining 6 logos?

What Disposableheros said. I was just referring to us being 35% of the way through the 20 weeks of the contest. Sorry about the confusion.

I was just marvelling at how quickly these last 7 weeks have flown by.

Sorry, I have always been slow on the uptake.

4 & 14 here, as they were the only ones to work the baseball theme in at all. (I guess I'm a stickler for that.) However, I LOVED #2 for its simplicity. Had the background inside the lasso been a baseball, I might have swooned. It'd still be tough to read in-game, but seems like it'd be close to my perfect logo.

Here are the ones I voted for:

#2....Excellently done...very simple and tasteful in design...Great "FtW"...lariat is a fine idea...as someone just posted...wish he had used a baseball...maybe inside of the lariat...an excellent traditional logo.

#3...Very well done...great detail where the horse's back feet hang over the "B" and the front feet are intertwined with the "C" and the "K"...nice colors and font.

#4...Excellent colors and font...really like the horseshoe around the baseball...great touch...no big deal, but wish "FW" had a "t" like #2.

#6...Nicely done...fine, font, color and design...good horse/rider.

#8...Very well done...like the horse/rider figure...good pose.

#10...Excellent colors...fine bull/rider figure...excellent detail with "FW" brand on the bull...excellent font.

#11...Fine design...great Buckeroos font and trim...nice horse/rider figure.

#12...Fine design, colors..font...really unique the way the hat placement makes it look like a longhorn is wearing a hat.

#13...Great bull/rider...Excellent colors...wish Ft. Worth was larger and did not cover up part of Buckeroos...This would have been the best by far except for the lettering overlap.

#14...Very well done...fine font, color and design...excellent horse/rider.

#2 As they are now, this would be my favorite out of all of them.

All of the others are done nicely...just not my taste in colors, design or lettering.

I love number two. The simplicity of it is what makes it great in my opinion. :0
