maximize screen- please help...

So I just relicensed my game to my new laptop - but I can't get the game to maximize over the screen it is in windowed mode and only covers about 50% of the screen...all my other games work fine- it has an ati 9700 128 mb video card???

I've hit the little + in the corner to no avail...

new edit;

My screen is regularly on 1400 by 1050

when I put the default at 1024 * 768 it goes to the full screen - does the game not put it in the mode it needs by itself -do I have to always reset the default resolution from 1400 *1050 to 1024 *768??

The game is setup to be played in 1024x768 resolution. If you want it full screen, your computer has to be set up like that.
