4 extra games

Its an online league but the Angels played 4 extra games bringing their 2005 total to 166. These 4 games resulted in losses making them miss the playoffs. Any light to why this happened would be appreciated.

There must have been some other teams to play extra games as well. It's probably due to a schedule error. You'll have to correct the schedule by deleting some game since the game will generate the next year's schedule based on the prior season's template.

Actually, I have seen this happen when a player gets injured, replaced, and re-entered into the game as a sub. This just happened to me during the first game of the season.

My starting RF went down in the 4th inning while making a catch. I replaced him with a bench-warmer. A little later, I had a good lead. So, I hit the "Simulate" button. When the box score comes up, it shows my starting RF in two lineup slots with "RF,RF" as the positions played.

After the game, his card showed 1 Game Started and 2 Games Played. Odd for the first game of the season.

That's a bit different then what this guy was referring to however. He was saying the Angels played four EXTRA games causing them to miss the playoffs. Maybe it was from the year before you edited postseason games? That's happened to me before, I was just lucky enough to notice it before I hit Game 162.
