Thx Joe for hosting!!

CBL Version 2.2 *2004*
------------------------------------------------
Hey gang,

It’s been awhile, and with some free time during the recent holiday season I decided to make some changes to my CBL 2.1 Roster to make it “feel” more like the real life 2004 MLB Season.

Please note I hope this will give you a better representation of the 2004 season. Some teams may perform better in OOTP than they did in Real MLB (due to injuries, career years, etc). For the most part, expected teams should make the playoffs, however due to many variables, you may see some variation every time you simulate the season.

Also of note, some impact Rookies that started 2004 in the minors (such as David Wright and Zack Grienke) may have more playing time in the roster set than Real Life MLB.

Stat Totals are very close to the real season:
Please note the following players below have been edited or added from Version 2.1.
+ Player's ratings/talents increased
- Player's ratings/talents decreased
Blank: very minor changes to player

of Barry Bonds, SF + (Amazingly..yes hes BETTER now?!?!)
1b Jason Giambi, NY - *reduced Giambi’s ratings big time; however did not totally destroy him. Feel free to change as you deem necessary*
of Hideki Matsui, NY +
rhp Freddy Garcia, SEA +
3b Morgan Ensberg, HOU –
3b Mike Lamb, HOU –
1b Calvin Pickering, KC *Added*

Also please note I believe ALL injuries are restored as they were on Opening Day 2004 (from CBL 2.0 set)

The current financial settings should give you MOST of the major free agents that hit the market during the real life off season.
Large Market teams like New York(s), Los Angeles, Anaheim's WILL have more revenue to throw around than the smaller market teams such as Milwaukee, Tampa, Kansas City's of the league.

I wish I had more time to create a 2005 update, but just do not have the necessary free time.

CBL Version 2.1!
----------------------------------------
Special thanks to Andy Wyckoff aka akw451972.

Andy provided the Top 100 REAL Draftees to CBL 2.0! Now when you reach the draft,
you will have 100 real draftees at your disposal!

Other small changes I made:
* Jeremy Affeldt now listed as Closer
* slightly improved Tom Glavine, Kenny Rogers, Johhny Estrada, Ken Harvey.

Andy suggests keeping the draft in mid-June, with 5 rounds.

Thanks everyone,

Heath

CBLCardinals Version 2.0
MLB Opening Day Roster set for OOTP6!!
------------------------------------------

Hey gang,

Opening DAY is HERE!!!

Version 2.0 features:

* Opening Day Rosters for all teams (the REAL Opening Day of April 5th!)
* Players on the DL
* Trades as of Opening Day such as Milton Bradley, Roger Cedeno are reflecteted in the set.

Version 2.0 is based on an import of my CBL 1.3 file from OOTP5!

Due to the new ratings system, I tried to adjust them as needed; however with nearly 2,000 players its hard to catch everything.

I used the 1-10 system to rate players; so feel free to adjust any as you see fit!

I was pretty impressed with Sim results overall.
Please keep in mind however that OOTP does NOT recognize names, just ratings!!

I suggest using these GREAT add-ins:

Draft Dodgers Facepack

Ankit's 2004 stadium set

Special thanks to Markus for creating such a wonderful game!

Thanks everyone,

Heath

aka CBLCardinals

------------------------------------------

The end is HERE
First off, let me thank the following for their contributions to the roster set:

Michael Green- creating the REAL 2004 MLB Schedule
David C Helper- providing information on market size/loyalty/fan attendance/TV Rev.
Mike Pacetti- Salary/contract info
Winston Han- Stadium info and misc. info.
Jim Wisenberg- Misc info.

Gentlemen,

It’s been a long, long journey. The end is finally here!
After starting on this project in late December, I finally “feel” like I can enjoy the fruits of the labor involved! Hundreds upon HUNDREDS of hours were invested into this beast, and I hope everyone will enjoy the roster file!

Version 1.3 is now OUT!!!

GO GET IT!! (I encourage Joe and others with large server space to please place the file on your server!!)

Version 1.2 features:

* 2003 stats
* Splits for over 800+ players based on 3 year averages (2001, 2002, 2003).
* REAL MLB 2004 schedule
* Realistic finances; Large market teams earn more-Small market less.
* Salaries set to 70%
* 40 man rosters (might have missed a few). Should be close to 98-99% accurate as of January.
* League histories updated with information from 2003 season. (MVP, Gold Gloves, etc)
* Career leaders feature the real MLB all-time leaders.

Version 1.3 includes:

* ALL Prospects in John Sickels 2004 Baseball Prospect Book. Yep, that’s right…nearly 1,000 PROSPECTS!!!
* MOST Non-Roster Spring Training invitees
* Up-to-date major injuries as of March 15th, 2004.
* Teams feature anywhere from 55-75 players on their ROSTER!
* Prospects placed approximately at the level they should be! (* I tried my best on information provided…most should be at the level they will compete at this year, or ended 2003 at.)

Here is my chart I used to interpret John Sickels scouting reports on prospects. John gives the prospect anywhere from an “A” (ie SUPER elite) to “C-“ (fringe player at best)

To convert his letters into “Stars”, here is a general chart I followed:
Sickels Letter grade – OOTP STARS

A: 4.5-5.0
A-: 4.0-4.5
B+:3.5-4.0
B: 3.0-3.5
B-: 3.0
C+: 2.5
C: 2.0-2.5
C-: 2.0

I’ve also entered appropriate velocity, and pitches per information I was provided.

Same with hitters; some fielders I was not provided with ample information on fielding/arm ratings…. For most of these players I set them to “average” (C range, C arm)

Sadly, this is now the end of my journey with you. Due to work and college, I will not be able to update this set.

Some things I wanted to get to, but didn’t:
• Alter Birthdates (to NOT be in ALL CAPS)
• Assign correct jersey numbers for players.

Both of these are purely “eye-candy”, and were left out.

If you disagree with any ratings/talents, feel free to change them to whatever you want!!!

Thanks to everyone for your support!

-Heath

Thx Halo for also hosting the file

JB:
Actually the file does not have up to date trades... it starts at the beginning of the 2004 season.

Hey the roster set looks great just one quick question. All of the National and Local TV contracts are set until 2054, what is the reasoning for that?

I set them that way intentionally; this will keep small market teams basically "small" and HUGE market teams huge (financially speaking)

Feel free to adjust it as you see fit
