Info about a new patch

I did a search and didn't see any information about this, so I apologize if I overlooked it.

Is 6.11 the terminal patch for OOTP6, or are there more planned? I remember seeing a post for issues, but haven't seen anything after that.

Thanks for the info.

Is this a good time to ask about a manual?

Markus alluded to the patch being released shortly after Christmas, but we're still waiting for it almost a month later.

Again Markus just couldn't resist temptation to blurt something out without being able to deliver what he said.

We all expressed this as a major problem with the way OOTP has been run, and apparently none of it sunk in.

Hmm. I think this is why the lead-developer at another computer game company has the following as his sig on the company forum: "A patch is never late! Nor is it ever early. It arrives precisely when I mean it to do!"

Not true, I never expressed anything of the sort.

Yes, he did say it would be a late Christmas present, but he never said Christmas of what year.

As has been stated, "we all" is a stretch, but your general premise is correct. Clearly, Markus's greatest enemy in this business is his own optimism. I'm convinced that he doesn't intentionally mislead his fanbase, but that he's simply too optimistic about his ability to finish this feature or that feature within a given amount of time. Those of us who have been here for a while probably ought to just start taking every one of his comments like that with a grain of salt until there is demonstrated evidence that that aspect of the way he communicates is going to change.

C-mon guys quit crying. Markus did not give a specific date for the next patch. All he said it would be a late Chrismas present. And everybody knows it will not have H2H so why cry about it? Markus has given us a great game in my opinion and I'm sure many guys agree with me. Lets support him instead of being always negative.

Oh. That's right. I'm sorry. Markus always hits all of his self-imposed/implied deadlines and he delivers on every single feature he promises.

C'mon. I'm not bashing him. I believe he's a positive force in the text sim community. That being said, I'm not going to view his communication style through rose-colored glasses, either. Particularly when it comes to patches, he quite often will suggest a timeframe that it will be released, then not really come that close to meeting that time. As I said, I don't think it is intentional misleading, just a case of being overly optimistic.

There will be another patch for OOTP 6, and it will fix some bugs and roster rules loopholes, as well as tune the closer useage. However, currently I am totally focused on OOTP 7 (for almost three weeks now), and I tend to take advantage of creative streaks like that. That's why I have not worked on the new patch more yet...
