City and Nickname Suggestions for the Special Logo Designers Project

Please submit the cities and nicknames for teams that might in the next 25-50 years be Major League expansion teams.

See this thread for details about the Great Logo Project:

http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ad.php?t=88953

PLEASE POST THEM ONLY IN THIS THREAD...OR ON THE LOGOS AND GRAPHICS FORUM...BUT NOT BOTH PLACES.

You have two days to post your suggestions for each week's logo...a City/Nickname committee will cut the list down to 20 teams with nicknames for the Logo Designers to use to create the World's Best League Logos.

The logo designers will each create a logo using the names and nicknames they are given by the committee. The committee will post one city/nickname per week in a thread on the Main OOTPB screen and you will be allowed to vote for the best version in a poll. Each week's Favorite logo will be included in a "Favorite Logos" compilation on JoeRock and BigCity's site...the other versions will also be used and placed in a "Special Logos" compilation on the same sites. We hope to do 20 teams this way. If it goes well, we will also have another project for Major League logos...but they will be new and original ones.

Criteria:

U.S. City must be in the Top 100 in population...roughly 200,000 pop...
International cities should have 200,000, too.
Mainly U.S. cities...but a few Canadian, Caribbean, European, Asian and South American will be included...possibly enough for 4-6 non-US teams.

Include Puerto Rico and Hawaii.
See US largest cities here:

http://www.citymayors.com/gratis/uscities_100.html

See World's largest cities here:

http://www.citymayors.com/features/largest_cities1.html

Or anyplace you like.

Just no small towns.

Please take the nicknames seriously...logos are very serious business.

If there was, they certainly wouldn't be looking for applicants here.

There is a logo contest in the works. See the link in Eugene's original post.

Metro is fine...just pick a large city...otherwise it probably won't be considered.

We are not going to get real picky about the population.
