Logo Request - TF Sporting News Dynasty

I was hoping one of the great logo designers here could come up with something for me to use as a logo for my "Tiger Fan's Sporting News" All Sports Dynasty.

I am pretty much wide open for a design but would prefer something that would reflect the era I am documenting (late 1940's) and the fact that it is not just baseball but every major sport.

As for logo size likely something along the design layout of OOTP team logo images ( so a square rather than a long rectangular banner).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

This doesn't feel like a finished product, and it strayed from my initial concept for the logo, but I thought I would throw it out there and let others that are much better at design take a crack at it.

blueturf, that is really well done...it has a 40's look to it, too...very good colors...and I like the pennant, too.

Just an observation...why not complete the circle with pictures all the way around it?

I know you are limited as far as space, but it is just a thought.

K, here's my attempt. The first one is a modified version of the second one. The second one is the original, full color, modern version. The first one is the same logo, but I did some stuff to it that makes it look aged.

Sorry, I know aging a modern logo isn't the best way to make it "fit in" with the 1940's era, but I'm horrible at creating historical era-based graphics.

Suggestions are, as always, welcome (and much-needed!).

Eugene I considered making the pictures symmetrical and I probably still will. The original concept is from a league logo that was done back in OOTP3 that had stars from all different decades. It was intended to look like a clock with stars from different eras progressing through the pictures.
Since TigerFan's dynasty will not progress throught the years very quickly, I will probably abandon the clock concept

thanks guys. Both are outstanding. Love the wrinkled look to dbacks old logo and the pennant, colours and images are fantastic in blueturf's.
