?s on cato
I have two questions about cato:
1) does cato handle league expansion okay? If you are expanding from 1 divisons to 2 divisions like 1969, or 2 to 3 like 1994, does cato handle this? 2) I noticed if I start a league in 1901, and it imports the stats for players like Cy Young, who have "pre-sim" history, it consistently knocks off the first year that person played, no matter the year. Is this normal? |

Cato is great for expansion. I have never had a problem but make sure you link the old team to a new if you change the team location or name. Adding teams and divisions are no problem in CATOBASE.
CATOBASE just creates pages from the data created into a database, so as long as OOTP can handle the changes, CATOBASE can create the reports. |

what do you mean by link the old team to a new team?
Does it handle it okay when teams switch divisions and/or leagues? |

If a team changes location or name then you need to go into catobase and under the team info- link the team to the new team. This is done in the last field on the team info screen. The abbreviation does not need to be the same. You need to do this if the team changes names or location, but not leagues or divisions. The only restriction with the abbreviations is that if you have a team using the NY abbreviation you cannot name another team using that abbreviation even if the NY team changes to a new location and has a new abbreviation. Example, NY plays from 1901-1928, 1929 NY moves to LA and plays from 1929-1950. A new team starts in 1950 and wants to use NY as the abbreviation. Cato base will get confused and try to combine the first NY team to the second on the html reports.... |

Alright, so I can be obviously as slow as I really am, this is accessed after opening Catobase - opening your league file - then selected Edit ----> Team Info. Right?
New to Cato, so just making sure I have my directions in order. Thanks SandMan. |
