Random Injuries

I was just simming the few empty days before the season really starts and Rick Ankiel suffered a hyper extended knee that puts him out a week despite 1) not playing in a single game and 2) nothing showing up on the injury report. I can live with a 1 week injury, this will just push his start back a few days but has anybody seen this before? Just think its odd.

I have never noticed it before, but I know there have been mentions of it on this board. I would just assume he slipped while shagging balls in the outfield or something.

Yes, its a common bug. You can do a search on phantom or ghost unjuries and you will fund numerous threads on the subject.

Maybe he did it "washing his truck?" Look at it as an off-the-field injury, or a practice injury. Not common, but possible.

That's called putting it in the best possible light.
