Post Game Crash going into New Season

I just finished my first season using Rolen's rosters and the game crashed when I clicked on proceed to next season. Eventually it did go into the next season but crashed again before the option to sign coaches. Now all the free agents only want one year contracts, I can't run the draft, and the spring training option does not show up either. I have gotten these to work using other season files and I have downloaded the patch. Any help ont hese issues would be greatly appreciated.

If I'm not mistaken this did happen with some versions of Rolen's rosters. Check here for a copy that should work. I don't know of any fix for this since technically "we" do not support "add-ons" which this roster set is.

Steve

I downloaded the rosters from that site and simmed a season. After the season, the game continues to crash and it does not even allow me to proceed to the next season. Is their anyway to get around this crash?

Try copying the "player.dat" file from the "career.lg" into that league and see what happens.

Thanks for the help Steve, but the game still crashes when I copy the player.dat file. It also now crashes when I try to create a custom league. Not to sound too angry, but I am starting to get fed up with the amount of crashes in this game. If there is no way around this I would like to find out how I could get my money refunded for the program.

When you copied the file did you copy it, or did you drag it to move it over? Without this file you'd have problems creating the league.

You said it crashes when you try to start a new custom league. When exactly is the crash?

You need to provide as many details about what you are doing right before the crash, what you have done recently with the game and the system, and some information about the system you are trying to run it on (RAM, free disk space, what other programs are running at the same time, etc.)

Is there a chance you've filled your hard drive and as a result the game can't write the file or expand the player.dat file to allow for new rookies, thus causing the crash?

I checked some older messages on the troubleshooting board and re-installed the game. It seems to be working fine right now. I simmed a season with Rolen's rosters to test it and I was able to sign coaches and free agents. Could the old problems be due at all to having a photo file for pictures of the current players?

No, those things would not cause a problem. it is possible that something got deleted by accident. Glad things are working again.
