Is there a way to negotiate TV contracts?
My team is in deep financial trouble

No, they are auto-renewed.

I believe the amount they are set too (after the first one expires) is commesurate with the fan interest and other market size parameters.

um - why are the "national" contract amounts different per team? i doubt it's like that in real life?

You can fix that. Just set the national TV contracts to whatever you want and give them a length of, say, 200 years (or however long you plan on running the league).
Personally, I set the local and national based on the size of the city (in real life) and then set the length to 200 so that the contracts are locked. Jason

Jason, I'm always interested in your "house rules" for fictional leagues, and have incorporated some into mine (average league salary comes to mind - >$1.5, expand; <1.5, contract)
So, what's your reasoning behind keeping them constant? And, while we're on the subject, what about the fan interest and market size, do you change them back every year, or do you let them change? If so, I'd be particularly interested on how you handle small market teams... I [ 06-03-2002, 08:05 PM: Message edited by: inverarity ] |
