Crash before first pitch

Hey guys,
I just started a historical league after playing online exclusively for a long time. Now, as soon as i hit "1" to throw the first pitch, the game will hang for 10 seconds and then give me an illegal operation. I have the sound off, i turned off the Out of town scoreboard, and turned off warmpu rule, just to get rid of every possible variable. I have Windows XP and I have always had the game crash after an online exhibition game. Any advice is appreciated

No help here, but I've had the same bug, but only when in manager mode.

Irratating, 'cause I want to play out a managerial career game-by-game like that, but no-go.

Steve K. offered the 'turn off the sound' advice, but as you know, that was a no-go.

Still- no joy.

another thing to check is if you have all the lineups vs R and L completely filled out for all 4 cases, R w/DH, L w/DH, R w/o DH, and L w/o DH, and also have you depth chart and pitching staffs filled out completely too, but I think the lineup is the most important one.

I had a similar thing where it'd say OOTP has cause and error in unknown and would shut down, but after I filled my lineups out the problem went away.
