He should fight a rematch with Chris Byrd. If nothing else, there will be one less champion in the mix. And in this case, it would probably be Byrd. I thought Byrd lost to Fres Oquendo. Let's see if Vitali can avenge his earlier loss before we have to swallow something like Byrd vs Ruiz.

Gezz - The HW division is so weak right now - But I would say the best possible test for Vitali would be an in-shape (IN SHAPE) Rahman -

I agree that Klitschko's best challenge at this point would be Rahman. But first, Vitali should fight Chris Byrd and put to rest the ghosts of April 2000. Next he should fight John Ruiz, who, for whatever reason is "calling Vitali out." What a JOKE! Then, Klitschko should fight Lamon Brewster to avenge brother Wladimir and unify the belts. Once that is accomplished, he should take on and defeat Hasim Rahman, and, if Lennox Lewis is feeling froggy, he can jump right in there and get some too. But that will never happen, because Lennox chose to retire rather face Vitali again.

I voted for Ruiz, simply because I'd like him to be kicked out of the picture as soon as possible.

If he beat rahman, and toney and if byrd continue to beat his guys then byrd will always be the one guy thats active that defeated him, I think if he beat byrd he will be undisputed period!
Fighting walk overs like williams is great to show the fans look what I can do, now its time for real continders. |

I think the only real possibilities are Ruiz, Brewster and Toney.
He probably won't be fighting either Ruiz or Brewster as their souls are owned by DK, so I would have say Toney. I think Byrd or Rahman would be interesting fights but I think DK will protect both of them. Mark |

We should take out the listed fighters that Don King controls. I'm hoping Monte Barrett gets a shot. Though he will be out wieghed by 40 pounds, it might be interesting.

I'd have to say Tyson, only because of the pleasure it would give me to see that pathetic excuse for a human being and fighter laid out unconscious in the middle of the ring.

Chris Byrd should be next to get the rematch over.
Toney has shown enough to at least get a shot. He may be able to use his ring savvy to get inside and do some damage but I'm not sure he has enough of a punch to do the job.

I cant let that attack go unanswered. Tyson is not pathetic excuse for a human being. He is simply a person who society has treated badly. He is simply a guy who due to lack of education and direction has made some bad choices. He also is one heck of a boxer. I would definately say that Tyson would probably beat Klitchko. I know my boy Tyson and he has it in him.

With Ruiz calling for the unification fights, I think he is as deserving as anyone. Byrd vs. Ruiz with Vitali fighting the winner to unify would be best, but that's in a perfect world. I don't consider Brewster and the WBO title even part of the mix for being heir to the unified title.

I voted for Toney just because I don't care for him and I believe the outcome would be very similiar to last night's

Are those the only choices? You don't mention...you know....that guy. What's his name? You know the one I mean....with the angry face....and the hair...on his head. And what about....the other guy. So many choices. Hmm. No, I guess that's it.
Never mind.

Isn't this a thrilling line-up to choose from. Although I find him a bit boring, I guess that I would have to say Byrd. It might be a good match to see if Byrd can wear Vitali out over 10 or 11; or to see if Vitali can get through his defense.
Hope we have a better crop of heavyweights soon.

How bout Lennox comes out of retirement to fight him. None of the other Heavies interest me whatsoever. I dunno how anybody gets excited about byrd, ruiz, brewster, rahman...even Toney is a burned out, bloated, overated heavyweight
Vitali can just sit on his gloves for awhile, and wait to see if someone emerges out of the rubble that is the rest the hw division. really, the only money fights out there for him, are Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis, neither of which seems likely to happen anytime soon |

The best fighter to stick in with Klitschko next in terms of interest is Samuel Peter, I'd be really intrigued to see how that turned out.
But realistically, while Peter continues his warm ups with fights against the likes of Larry Donald and Michael Moorer, I think a Klitschko vs Ruiz fight would be as good as any. I'd like to see if Vitali could handle the Ruiz wrestling tactics. |
