OOTP6 hangs when generating amateurs

Hey all

I've got an issue with my league that is in my signature. I'm trying to proceed to the 2nd season, and it will gernerate the reports all right, but when generating amateurs, the whole program will hang and will need to be cancelled via the task manager.

I'm using the latest version
contains forty teams
windows XP Pro

umm...dont really knwo what other info you need.

Check the league setup where it gives the number of ammy rounds and see what the number is set to. A few have reported that for some reason the game sets it for several 1,000 rounds and returning this number to what it should be corrects the problem. This is very rare from what I understand but has happened to others before.

Well Amateur draft is set for the following:

Rounds:5
Time: Pre-Season
Enabled: Yes

under the Misc. Setup

I'll try manually re-entering the number, then run it again

EDIT: Same issue, hangs as soon as it gets to generating amateurs

I had the same problem.

Turned out that my Schedule listed the first day of the season as January 1st, and when it tried to generate amateurs that will crash the system.

Edit your schedule and check the date, if it is January 1, change it so that it reflects the real first date of your schedule (april 1 or last march).

well godo suggestion, but no dice

It's set to what it shoudl be, aka May 1st, and even with re-entering it manually, same issue occurs.

actually I just noticed that it will start to generate players.......and then jsut hang at around 15 to 20% if that helps at all
