Logo Requests
I'm looking for help with some logos for my new fictional league - imaginatively entitled World Series Baseball League!! The league started in 1950 and I've simmed about 13 seasons so far to get some records up and running. I'll probably jump in and start managing in the 1970's.
The league is made up of the largest cities in the US without an MLB franchise although I bumped a few cities up the list that I wanted in the league. I then did a little research in to the history of the cities and created some of the nicknames based on the city history. Others were just made up. However I don't have logos for any of these teams and am looking for HELP!!! I'm actually looking for some simple text based logos that would be consistent throughout the league with really only the name and the colour scheme differentiating one from the other. Does that make sense? Perhaps something on the logo might also distinguish if they are from the "Masters" League or the "Legends" league. If anyone fancies taking on the challenge that would be fantastic. Hopefully the logos would be editable so I'd only need a couple doing at the outset and I can change the names and colours later. Any help would be gratefully received. I've included the list of teams below: Masters League West Division Tacoma EvergreensSacremento MondialsSalt Lake City OdysseySan Jose TomcatsAlbequerque PioneersEl Paso IndiansCentral Division New Orleans SteamersDes Moines HawkeyesAustin ApachesOmaha MustangsWichita Blue AngelsLittle Rock BluebirdsEast Division Jacksonville NavigatorsColumbus CapitalsVirginia Beach ColonistsToledo ExplorersBuffalo BrewersArlington Athletics Legends League West Division Portland PenniesLong Beach SeasidersLas Vegas T-birdsColorado Springs Gold RushTucson AstrosSan Antonio KnightsCentral Division Oklahoma City BoomersMemphis BluesNashville DukesBaton Rouge SovereignsMiami MatadorsIndianapolis 500East Division Birmingham TornadosLexington BreedersCharlotte CelticsRochester UndergroundNewark HighwaymenJersey City Royals |

Thanks Eugene,
I've seen this one and a couple of other Memphis Blues that I really like but I wanted to get a consistent theme for logos which is why I was looking for a text-based one that I can modify. Its the first time I've created a totally fictional league and its funny how particular you get about it. I love some of the fictional logos already out there but wanted some of my own team names and all logos to be the same and I don't suppose anyone will be wanting to design me 36 new logos...!! If I can't get what I want I may give in after a while. I just wish I had the talent to do this myself!!! |

I know what you are saying...been there...done that.
I have spent about 2 years getting these wonderful guys to design me 40 almost great logos for my two fictional leagues...I say "almost" great because there are about 10 of them that I want "perfected" to exactly what I would like them to be. Good luck with your project...you have very good nicknames. If you want all of them done in a similar fashion, this is where nmleague really stands out. He has done series of similar logos in the past for himself, but made them available for other to use. One series I remember was the "Large Single Letter" logos. I think Pepeda...or one of the leagues he is in...VBL (??) has logos that are in one pattern....a large letter with a unique two color diagonal background. This league is one of my alltime favorites for logos. I think they are simple, yet great. Large single/double letters really show up well on all screens in OOTPB...even the small lineup screen. I'll see if I can find examples and post them for you. Last edited by Eugene Church; 12-23-2005 at 02:18 PM. |

I will be happy to...
...do whatever logos you would like done in whatever "uniform" specs you set up. If you have suggestions about how you would like the logos set up, I can get cracking on completing them for you.

I'd love to help out. Maybe what we can do is one of us come up with a league logo, then, agree on a font, and placement of that logo, and divy these up. We'd get done pretty fast that way I bet.

Wow! I didn't expect so many offers on day one!!
I'm in Europe so about to head off from work for the day and I've got no internet in my hotel room. I'll get my thinking cap on tonight and post something more meaningful in the morning. Thanks again |

Hey guys
I gave it some thought and decided the last thing I want to do is let my lack of creativity restrict your creative instincts! I like the logos Eugene posted above but would prefer to see the nicknames written out in full. I also like the style of Spindels 2004 MLB Uniform logos that are availbale from www.ootpdownloadcenter.com. So, I guess I'll leave it in your capable hands. Give me some ideas and we can go from there. Thanks again!! |

This is what I came up with. I figure with a lot of people helping, it's tough to use images because they won't look uniform like you had asked. So, I thought a concept like this might work. I have attached several options. Even if this isn't the direction you go in, I may do some of them like this to practice my circles if that's okay with everyone:

Knuckler,
I agree they are great. Thanks alot man. Great start! I like both the circular look and the text look although not together on one. Its almost a shame the game doesn't allow for two logo styles - one for the clubhouse and one for gameday. If I had to pick I'd probably say I like the circular one best although as they're both great whichever gives you the most fun works for me. Funny how you chose the Royals to do your demo. It was the first name I came up with...it just rolled of the tongue. Although so far their on field success has been minimal...only 1 post season if I recall in 13 seasons. Maybe a good logo will revive their fortunes! |
