LOCAL STARTING DIR: a Folder at the Webspace

I'm assuming that you'll want to have a normal info website along with a link to your League Reports. If so, first make sure that your main page of your website is named "index.html"

Free sites can be a bit tricky. So follow carefully:

1. You'll have to register a subdomain on your main domain using the tools your webhost provides OR open a separate account to host your League Reports. The latter being the easiest.

2. If you can register a subdomain with your existing account, registration will usually automatically create a new folder and ask you for a password. Once registered, it will give you the name, folder, FTP username and password. The Port should be "21". Entering the settings into OOTP you will enter the website for example : www.free.hostultra.com/~reports.FootballFan13/ , ftp username (possibly):reports@FootballFan13 and the local starting directory will simply be a slash " / " because after the slash will be "index.html" which is the main page of the OOTP reports.

3. If you can't register a subdomain, simply open a separate account. Your registration will usually give you all of the ftp info you need. Again, set the local starting directory to a simple " / " so that the "index.html" file works automatically as the main page of the OOTP reports without having to be typed. For example, if you type in www.free.hostultra.com/~FootballFan14/ you won't have to type in the index.html after the Fan14/. The site will always open the index file first. The Port should be "21".

4. Be sure to place a hyperlink on your info page that leads to your OOTP reports.

Webhosts are all a bit different and thus it's hard to give concrete advice, especially with free hosting. Anyway,

5. If you are still having problems download FileZilla. It's free and easy to use. Simply generate your reports with OOTP to your destination folder of choice on your HD. Then open FileZilla. Enter your website, username, password and "21" for Port. Then you can open whatever folder you want, Ctrl+A and Drag &Drop all of your reports to the folder of your choice. You'll see them listed below as they transfer. When the list is gone, it's done!

Get FileZilla at http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/

Wish you the best!!

Fidel

Where did the other 2000 files go?
There is no limit on the number of files in a folder.
Putting them on your desktop probably isn't the best option from a Windows perspective.

I've never seen all the files not end up where I told it to put them. Did you run out of disk space? Does your computer have a quota enforced on profiles?

FileZilla

OOTP generates it's own index.html file. When you drag and drop ALL files to your folder of choice on your webserver, it will ask you each time if you want to overwrite the existing one. ALWAYS say yes. Now remember, above, I said you need a separate area from your League info site because you can't have 2 index files in the main directory of your website. BE SURE to create a separate folder for your OOTP reports!

Oh..one more thning..

On your website, I hope you didn't name a folder "index.html". Name your folder "reports" or something like that. (Avoid capital letters) Then with FileZilla, open the "reports" folder and you should see that it's empty and clean! Now on the left side of FileZilla, find your OOTP generated reports folder and open it. There will be your 2000+ files inside. hit CTRL+A to select all of them. Then just drag and drop them to that empty "reports" folder.

When you generated the reports from within OOTP, did you say "Generate Player Reports"?

It is an option and I think it defaults to "No" but the links remain.
