Team finished with 163 game record, only plays 162.

In the NGBL, the division winning Boston Red Sox just completed a narrow 1 game victory over the Cleveland Indians. Boston finished up at 92-71, while Cleveland came in at 91-71. The league standings showed this as a .5 game division lead.

After going through the schedule (and manually calculating the W/L totals), we verified that the Red Sox should've finished up at 92-70, and somehow got double credit for a loss against the Minnesota Twins (the only other team in the AL with a 163 game record).

I'm assuming that this happened when the game crashed (as happens when teas export rosters with the same player in the lineup twice, etc), but this is the first time I've seen it actaually effect the record like this.

Now, while the game scheduled the playoffs without any problems, it will not sim to the day AFTER the final day of the regular season. Is this a related problem?

Also, is there any way to edit the league standings to reflect accuate W/L Totals for historical sake?

Thanks,
- Paul

Your assumptions are most likely accurate here. I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean when you say that the game will not sim to the day AFTER the final day of the regular season. Do you mean that you can't get to the playoff games? As for editing standings, you can make the changes on the HTML output manually, but there is no way that I know of to correct it within the game. You might also have players that were double credited with the stats from those games as well.

I believe that Pierre's team Editor can edit the record.

Here's the thing...

When players are playing a series on their machine, and one of the games crashes - THEY MUST STOP PLAYING. They cannot continue to play the rest of the series, and then just have you SIM the one crashed game.

Why? Because the game you sim will be lost. Eveything will be fine right after the sim, but as soon as you import the game AFTER the lost game, yous standing will be messed up. That is because the imported game is missing all the stats from the previous game. It doesn't look like the imported game carries only the game stats which is then added to the real stats - instead it looks like it just carries updated final stats.

Whenever someone in your league suffers a crash, all games from the crash onwards in that series must be simmed. We've been doing that in our online league and it works like a charm

Hi Sporr, thanks for the reply (and for the suggestions from others as well). You're correct - I can't "Advance" the two days in between the regular season and the start of the playoffs. The final day finished fine, but now I'm stuck.

The league file is posted at the NGBL web site, if that will be of any help.

Thanks again,
- Paul

Interesting - on a lark I just decided to disable some of the advanced financial options (Waiver Rule, Minor League Option Years, etc)., and now I was able to sim the day.

There was probably a player on the DFA list whose time had expired.

Actually thought about that after the fact, although I've gotten the "unable to proceed to the next day, Player XYZ has to be assigned or released". Could be with no days to sim, it threw it for a loop. If so, it'd be a bug worth looking in to.
