Carter to Portland?

Rumours are abound that Jalen Rose and Vince Carter could be headed to Portland for Shareef Abdur-Rahim and either Nick Van Exel or Derek Anderson.

Its Derek Anderson. Portland said they wont part with Van Exel in this trade...

I dont like either of player(Carter, reefer). Just like Stephon Marbury those players wont ever lead a team to a championship. So it comes down to attendance and who will bring in more. And in that case, its Carter, Rose, so Toronto again, will be getting raped on this trade.

It's obviously a cap-clearing move.

Apparently, the full trade would be Carter, Rose, Jerome Moiso and Milt Palacio for Anderson, Abdur-Rahim and Vladimir Stepania.

Has the NBA become the trade happy league or what? Zeus, I hate every NBA player except the one from Europe with sideburns.

Definitly in a cap moving point of view the Raptors do well. But will it hurt them in the long run by losing Carter? I always thought Carter was as big to fans in Canada, as Iverson is to fans in Philly...

Not when he demands a trade.

Not here at least. Everyone that I know cant stand his whiny ass, with his prima donna complex and not listening to anyone but his mother

Maybe he might fit in better in Portland, but fans here (that I know at least) dont like spoiled brats, no matter how good they are

At least Abdur-Rahim and Anderson are class acts.

I like Rose a lot though, he's a good player and a good guy, I'll be sad to see him go.

Carter, not so much. I used to like him, up until he started whining.

Can you narrow that down a bit more?

How can you hate Grant Hill? It's a great story if he somehow can remain injury-free.

I'm not sure of his name. He's the white one with darkish hair. They call him a "seven footer" although he is probably more like 6'10" or 6'11".

I do like Grant Hill. I was not aware he was still in the NBA.

I was teasing because it seems like there are 50 Europeans in the league, and the vast majority are white with darkish hair. I'm not sure how many have sideburns, though.

I would rather watch the team we have now, then go and watch VC screw up the "team chemistry" they already have in P-town.

Rose is a good player, and in some way, more valueable then Carter really. Toronto will miss him if the deal does happen, i think they'll miss Jalen more then Carter, on the court anyway.

Yeah, I agree, even if he is overpaid, and guaranteed a contract for the next 3 years.

Vince Carter is actually still one of the most popular players in the NBA even with his constant bitching and complaining. If you don't believe me look at the past few seasons All Star ballots. He's been the player to receive the most votes every year since he was in the dunk contest.
