Weird news screen

I got a very odd looking news story today, and I'm hoping it doesn't mean my league is corrupt and will soon cease working or something. I'm attaching a screenshot of the actual news story. In addition, the area on the left where the headlines are listed was totally blank for this story.

Your league should be fine - this is a well known "garbled news" bug that's been around for awhile (at least through OOTP5). Everything should be fine except that the player doesn't get credit in his "Streaks/Records" stats for winning whatever award it was he should've won. You can manually go through and edit all the news stories to fix the problem, but I don't know how you can edit that player's stats to give him credit for the award.

Apparently it's a tough bug for Markus to track down. No one's sure what causes it. Sometimes you see garbled characters like that, sometimes you see no words at all, sometimes a player wins an award but he's listed as being on the wrong team... it's a mess.

But keep on playing - with the exception of that award, everything should be fine.

Thanks. That's good to know. All these years of OOTP and this is the first time I've seen it.
