Uploading problem...

I'm trying to run an online league for a site (http://thesportsfans.com/mlbvgm), but it's happened several times already. I have generated the reports, uploaded the reports, but only the standings page update. The team pages do not, yet, when you click on a player, it shows their 2005 stats (just started 2005 season). I don't know if that makes clear sense, but that's how I sum it up.

So, basically what's you're saying is that I just need to be patient and the team pages will update?

Alright. How long do you usually have to wait before the league page is completely updated?

Yeah, that's usually how long it takes for my uploads, maybe an hour.

As I said in the other thread on this same topic, IF you are using the game to upload files DON'T.....it is much slower than a stand alone FTP program use one of them instead.

Okay. Sorry I missed the other thread. But anyways, do you mean it is a lot more slower as in for the site to be completely updated?

I really can't comment since I have not used the "in game" to update a site in over a year.

It wouldn't take 10+ hours even if you had dialup. Its safe to assume it has locked up. (Hope you are still not waiting for it to complete.)

Best option is to create the files on your PC, zip it, and the ftp it and extract it on the server.

If that is not an option for you (some hosts don't support it), do as Steve suggested, generate on your PC and FTP it with another program. The OOTP FTP is flaky at best and very slow.

Yeah, I'm kind of an OOTP newbie, so that's just kind hard for me to understand. It froze the first time during the upload, and I had to quit during it as a result. Do you think that has affected the upload now?

The only problem would be the upload isn't complete. It wouldn't permanently adversely effect anything if thats what you mean. Once you get a proper full upload to work, you'll be good to go.

Well, it just finished uploading the reports to the server, but still, the team pages remain unaffected. Something tells me this is my computer.
