PLEASE HELP! Runtime Error!

Okay, I've had the game for about 10 days, and have no problems ... until now.

I created a custom league (4 divisions with 6 teams in each), starting in 1900 with a $90,000,000 salary cap and $20,000,000 cash maximum. I let the computer draft the coaches and players and got to the stage when I was ready to start the season. After simulating one game, the software froze, and a couple of minutes later I got the "OOTP Baseball has experienced difficulties and must shut down..." message.

I thought the problem could have to do with the amount of leagues (5) I had stored on file, so I went into "My Computer" and deleted three of them.

When I went back into OOTP Baseball, the date at the top of the screen was showing as ,0/0/0. I selected Continue League, but no league details came up on the screen. So I went to File Open League. I clicked on one of the two leagues that were still on file and received the message:

Microsoft VisualC++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP6\OOTP6.exe

abnormal program termination

OK

When I click on OK, the computer exits out of OOTP Baseball.

The same thing happened when I tried to create another custom league.

Any advise on how to fix this problem would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks.

Did you delete the "last open league"?

The first league I made was a 32 team league. The one I created was a 24 team league.

Okay, I'm home from work now, sitting in front of my computer. I've got my proof of purchase e-mail sitting in Outlook Express, so if I remove all the software for the game from my computer, and then re-install it, I shouldn't have a problem with having to pay for it again, should I?

Always safe to unlicense the game first:

In my OOTP6 folder (within Program Files), there is a file called elicen40.dll.
Is this the file I'm looking for?

Um, sorry, but you didn't answer my question. Is elicen40.dll the file I am looking for?

That is the "license" for the game. But the procedure to unlicense the game is to follow the guide in the posted link.

I did a search of my computer, and I don't have an eLicense folder. I think the only software that I have on the computer that would require an eLicense is OOTP Baseball and OOTP Title Bout Championship Boxing.

It's probably in your Control Panel, or else in My Computer like "Printers". Mine is called "eLicense Control". Either way, it probably wouldn't show up in a search, as it is not technically a "folder" but a Control Panel applet.

Okay, I've found my eLicence folder, and I went through the process of removing and re-installing the game.

Thank you so much for your help, Steve and jmm8356.

I'm getting the runtime error, too; on startup it opens up to an "empty" league, and won't let me open or create another one.

Do I reinstall? Is there a step-by-step guide someplace? Thanks.
