5 Logos needed

I'm starting a fictional league where the teams are loosely associated to colleges. Because it's only loosely associated to the colleges, I wanted to see if one of the impressive artists here could come up with some logos. I was thinking they could use maybe the same color themes as the schools and certainly the same team names. I'd like to start small though with only a few of the schools in the league.

-Wisconsin Badgers - perhaps something with a rather ferocious looking badger on it.

-Indiana Hoosiers - What is a hoosier anyway? I'm a bit at a loss with this.

-Florida State Seminoles - Something similar to their football helmets with the spearhead emblazoned in a gold backdrop may be nice.

-Maryland Terrapins - They have a weird turtle thing as their mascot I believe. Wouldn't be a bad idea to start there.

-Illinois Fighting Illini - Personally important to me since I went there; there was a logo in the early 80s which I can't seem to find anywhere of a profile view of the illini chief. Would have to have orange really stand out.

Thanks in advance to anyone who's kind enough to give me a hand.

I have always thought a hoosier was a small town country bumpkin of sorts...a la Woody on Cheers, who hailed from Indiana...naive, innocent, not too much schooled and unsophisticated...but with lots of common sense...similar to hillbilly and redneck in other parts of our country...basically, a small town person with not a lot of formal education, but a person of good values, morals and ethics and common sense. Gomer Pyle and Jed Clampett also come to mind as similar to hoosiers.

As you will see from this very interesting article, no one is really sure what a hoosier is.

The seminoles looks fantastic. For illinois I was talking more of the profile view rather than the front view of the chief. I think the redskins had a similar logo in years past although I may be mistaken. The wording and border is nicely done, however. The profile chief ( from what I remember) had a large head-dress similar to the frontal chief. On a side note the profile chief was removed by the university as I understand it, because it was too racist. The frontal chief (which is clearly less racist <--sarcasm) was instated in it's place.

I have a Boston Braves logo at home that sounds like what you want for the Illini. Profile of an Indian chief wearing a headdress.

BTW: most of my family are UIUC alums and one of my sisters is a secretary there.

I definitely like it, although the font is a little too '80s nightclub-ish

What font would you prefer? Give me a suggestion and I'll see what I can do. Might need to shrink the head a bit.

Two thumbs up for the badgers logo as well as the orange-ified Illinois logo. That just leaves the somewhat obscure terrapin and hoosier logos....

I'm working on two separate yet similar concepts for the Indiana Hoosiers. I hope to get them posted up later on today if all goes well.
