? OOTPB/ Statis Pro ?

Seeing that Title Bout is based on an old Avalon Hill boardgame (seemingly the only one I managed to miss, I even have Wrasslin') I was wondering if OOTP Baseball is/was based in any way on AH's excellent Statis Pro Baseball series.

thx,
The Fat Man

Nope, OOTP was a totally separate creation. I'm not sure if Markus even knew the Title Bout crew before OOTP was first produced.

Avalon Hill ... *sigh*

Before $50 video games became the craze, $20-40 board games from Avalon Hill and Game Designers Workshop held me enthralled (along with D&D). I miss that company.

I played the old Statis Pro series SO much.....HOW MUCH?

Ruth had homers on "34"....Gehrig had homers on "33", Ernie Banks had homers (vs. righties) on 21, 22, 25, and 26.

I could go on, at length.

Statis pro was a great game. The best part was that they gave you the formula to create your own player cards which gave it a huge advantage over APBA and Strat-o-matic. There are still a few sites that will produce cards for the game for you and they even offer the formula in case you just want to do it yourself.

ahh, statis pro. I still play it once in awhile.

I love milking 2-9 starters who pitched in 11 games all season.

Did you play The Longest Day (AH) or Atlantic Wall (GDW) ?
Those were the days.
