Problem with 6.10 that I'm having

After the last two seasons, the game locks up. I have to reboot my entire computer.

When I click back into the game it is January. There is no free agency period or coach signing period and no Spring Training.

What am I doing wrong?

How do you know that the game froze up?

Because I have to click ctrl/alt/delete to open up the windows task manager all the time because it stops working. It will show 'Not Responding' next to Out of the Park Baseball 6 in the windows task manager and the computer processes will be at 100% of computer use.

First of all you really can't trust the "windows message", secondly how long are you waiting and what does the game screen say during this time.

Usually, when it goes from simming to finishing simming, it switches back to 'Running' within 10 or 15 seconds and I have no troubles with it.

But lately, it stays 'not responding' for 3, 4, 5 minutes and the computer freezes up.

Usually, it doesn't show me any error. It just freezes up and all I get is a white screen. Many times, I can't see OOTP6 because of the freezing.

I just realized something. It is locking up whenever it tries to generate amateur players.

It starts generating them, then the program freezes.

Have you checked your draft rounds? I had a league that, for whatever reason, changed to about 32,000 rounds. I had a similar problem and I thought the game was stalled, but I think it was trying to generate about 600,000 players on the end of year rollover.

When I changed the draft to 5 rounds, it rolled forward painlessly.

As far as I can tell, it is only drafting for 10 rounds.

The last draft had players from the free agent list in it.

I drafted a 28 yr old relief pitcher somehow when the computer drafted for me.

Have you deleted or moved ANY files w/i the OOTP folder(s)?
