Women playing OOTP

Sorry to post such a lame thread, but I just need confirmation here - I can't possibly be the only woman who loves this game!

Anyone else?

Probably because she gets her ass kicked in online leagues! Once one investigates further, they realize the L in Lambert really stands for "Losing," since losing seems to be a Lambert tradition! Sorry Mikey, I couldn't resist!

As far as the Green'n Gold Heart, I'm thinkin' we can find some room in one or three of Mikey's online leagues and allow you to prove that girls - especially those who dig Moneyball - can hang with the fellas.

Not yet. But I'm trying to get my fiancee into it. She's a baseball n00b, though, so text sims are a bit over her head right now. Try explaining the way to fill out a batting order to someone who had seen one baseball game start-to-finish before you met her, and whose first language isn't English. Not easy!

You are not the only female who plays OOTP. I have been enjoying the OOTP series for a few years now. I have ITP, Puresim and BBMogul as well.(all the latest versions...at least for Puresim and BBMogul. It a new ITP comes out I imagine I will get that too.

There used to be women hanging around here... bbgal, the Katrina "fiasco", and there were a few others, I think.

G&GH, I thought you were some man picking up chicks with Moneyball. Oops.

There's a female owner in one of the online leagues I'm in, the WHBL. She's a defending division champ, and she was voted GM of the Year.

My wife has zero interest in sports. In fact she thinks my interest in sims is rather sad I think

The only other person I know into baseball outside of these boards is my Dad back in England, but he doesn't have the patience for something like OOTP.

Good to see ladies playing OOTP. I was in a simmed hockey league a couple of years ago, modelled on the NHL. The only woman in the league won the Stanley Cup all three seasons I was involved She brutally kicked our asses

That'd be cool - though I've never tried online leagues before.

On the lighter side of things ...

I was thinking of putting out a personal ad; "must like OOTP"

What do you guys think? (the closest I've ever been in the past is dating someone who used to pitch when she was in little league as a kid)

I am a female and play in online leagues. I am Mike (halofan's) wife. And as for Jason calling me a loser, well that sure seems funny when the first 2 seasons I went to the playoffs and oh what was that.. hmm he didn't Either way - My team sucks this season, but can't win them all - next year they will hate You should come play in online leagues.. it gets lonely being the only girl

I wouldn't call it the Katrina "fiasco"? By all accounts she was a female who liked and beta-tested OOTP. She then stopped posting and hasn't been heard from in sometime. Plenty of people have done that over the years and it doesn't make it a "fiasco". I just find it strange that people find it hard to believe that an attractive female could actually like this game. Unless someone can prove otherwise, I'll maintain that Katrina was no alias and the way some people treated her here, might have been part of the reason she left...

My girlfriend is a big sports fan and we play OOTP together. She really likes it, which is a big plus for me. We're both planning on going to the OOTP convention next year if they still hold it. She is also a big Hockey fan and really likes Eastside as well, but has no interest in Football Manager

I thought this was someone trying to pick up a date through OOTP.

I'll accept females play OOTP, but attractive...that's just going too far, unless of course proven otherwise.

Well I can only speak about my girlfriend, but she is quite attractive. If there is one there must be more
