6.10 patch crashing on XP SP2

I downloaded and installed the 6.10 patch. The game now crashes at launch. Initial screen comes up, when 'loading league' progress bar completes: crash! I HATE that annoying IE Send Error Report? dialog!

It was working fine for me under XP SP2 6.03... HELP!

I've also got SP2 and have had no problems with 6.10...so you will probably need to give more info on your system to get some quality help here...

also if you go to Control Panel-System-Advanced (tab)-Error Reporting, you can turn off those annoying dialog boxes...

Good luck finding the problem

Still crashing here, too. Then again, like I've said a half dozen times now, it started for me BEFORE I installed SP2. I'm almost certain it's DX 9c that's doing it. I had installed that a few weeks before I installed SP2, and since the problem continued after I uninstalled SP2, it has to be DX 9c that's causing it. I've updated my sound and video drivers, I've rolled them back to previous versions, I've tried everything except uninstall DX 9c, which isn't possible.

Drivers updated (from the manufacturers not windows) and still crashing from 6.10. Only happens when sound is on and when playing games out.

Thanks for the Control Panel - Error Reporting tip! That whole thing always annoyed me!

I'm not sure what additional info to include. 1.6 GHz, 512 RAM, Windows XP Pro, Version 2002, SP2, Direct X is up to date...

Program is installed in the default location. Under 6.03 it ran fine, 2 days ago... after installing Patch 6.10 it crashes as soon as the loading league file progress bar completes. I've made no changes to the subfolders. My registration information and the Version 6.10 are appearing correctly... should I try a fresh install of 6.10 in lieu of the patch?

I just did a complete install of 6.10 as opposed to patch 6.10 and everything seems to be working fine.

same here..

i think best way is to unistall the game, delete C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP 6 folder

then do a full install of 6.10

i have sp2 no problems

Those of you that have SP2 but are *not* having problems... could you run dxdiag and see what version of Direct X you have? It's my contention that it's not SP2 that's causing it, but DX 9c. Most people install DX 9c at the same time as SP2, so it ends up looking like SP2 is the problem. However, I installed 9c before SP2, and the problem began before I had SP2, and continued after I uninstalled it.

i have directx 9.02c and sp2
no problems...

i suggest a full install, instead of patching it from previous version

Question

That is strange... because if I'm not mistaken, the only thing the "patch" does is take the brand new .exe as compiled by Markus, and copy it over the old .exe. I don't see how installing it anew will change anything...

Just did a full re-install. Still crashes when generating boxscore after a game with sound on. :-/
