Interesting that you used proper puncuation in the thread itself, but not in the title of the thread....

hey JB, ever heard you get more with honey instead of lemons?

I am sure Steve will have an update soon when he can post it. "calling" him out probably isn't the best way to do it. Since the game is back in beta test, that would also mean some changes to the manual as well.

Also, I assume Steve is a beta tester. I'd rather him test the hell out of the patch then I would have him worry on the manual.

Well true, but the manual is a priority as well. But the patch comes first, and whatever changes are needed Steve will get them added to the manual and hopefully we will have some news on that after the update is released.

"Calling him out"? I didn't read it that way. It was a fair question. I believe you are a little touchy.

And, if there is no manual in the hands of the customer, then how do you change a manual that in reality (for the customer) doesn't exist? (Sort of if the tree in the forest falls and no one hears it does it make a sound?)

Sorry mking.

To say it was touchy is to assume you knew my presence of mind , and I do believe you of all people know I am a nice guy. Even if you don't agree with my position, I make sure I am not a touchy fellow. In fact, I try to be fair and open minded with everyone I come into contact with.

If you wish to debate my touchiness, you could do it privately, but if you wish to discuss it publically, I am all for that too.

Is the manual finished? Yes, I think it is close to being done.

I know Steve is giving it the last lick and polish this weekend, and we should see something early next week.

Does that mean it could be delayed if something is found needed to be added at the last moment? Of course, but for now, I know it is close to completion, and being finalized for us to get it out to the public.

It isn't what everyone wants to hear, I know everyone wants the manual now, but I believe Steve will give it the poring over it needs to make it ready for download to everyone that wants it.

Ok and the information I just gave you isn't an update then? I just wondered, since I got it from Steve himself.

Is that a good enough report JB? Or do you need it from Steve instead?

you see that very poor customer service, because originally you didnt say that....that no way to treat customers with remarks like that....

you could of said that in the very first post you did ..i just talk to steve and this is the update, etc and this conversation could of ended.

why was it hard for steve to come on and reply? and give us a friendly update...

it just not me, but alot of ootp 6 customers will like an update status on the manual..

seems like you are upset and steve doesnt want to address it himself that i ask this question and brought it up...

if so i am sorry

Heck no, I don't get upset over someone asking questions. Steve had some errands and duties to take care of, so I offered to post for him. Sometimes we try to help each other around here.

If I was upset, I would not hesitate to let someone know. But since I am not... no worries. The funny thing is you continue to ask for an update, and I offer you one, and you still don't wish to accept this as the latest information?

What would designate an official response JB? That is the latest information, and even though it wasn't from Steve personally, it is from the man himself. Just because it isn't from the one you expected doesn't mean it isn't any less official. Ok? No hard feelings, just trying to understand what you need for information.

Since you had asked, I went to Steve and got the latest information and tried to answer it for you. Is that not something that would entail customer service? I hope so, because that is the intent.

If the manual does not come included with all advertised features, can I get my money back?

We have this word in the English language. It's called "Please." Comes in handy sometimes.

For instance, the appropriate, civilized way to request a manual update would be something along the lines of, "Steve, could we please have an update on the manual? The last one was on 8/17/04. Given Markus' updates on the patch, we would like an update on the status of the manual."

Then there is the boorish way of doing things, where you command the person to do something even though you have no authority to command the person and the person has no obligation to respond to anything you command.

The "thanks" at the end is hardly adequate to make this a proper message.
