Historical league Problems

Hi all,

I recently bought ootp6 and I love it. I want to start a historical league of my own and I am having problems. I ALREADY CHECKED THE FAQ"S about how to do it and here is the problem. I unzipped the file from www.baseball1.com and imported the league and when it was created there were NO TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE! Can anyone help me understand what I could have done wrong? I extracted all the files into its own folder and there are no teams. I am using windows XP. Hopefully I can get some help here.

make sure you are downloading the csv version from baseball1.

unzip it to a folder on your C drive named Lahman (or stats, or whatever).

Open OOTP, start historical league and browse to the folder (Lahman, stats, whatever).

Should be good to go...

sorry, are there players?!? If so, maybe the download was missing some data, I'd try to download again.

If no players, then make sure you download the csv database, not the Access one.

Yeah I did that. I choose the 2004 Season. Could that be the problem? Because when I went to the site I downloaded the right version. The one that is opposite of Access. It created the league generated a schedule, but there wer no teams for the year in either league. Does XP autmatically unzip? Because wehn I left clicked on the ZIP file I was able to extract the files to C:\Stats.

ahhh... 2004 is not in the database, only 2003 and prior.

I believe there are some "home brewed" 2004 league files in the mods section.

At a minimum you should have these files in your lahman database folder. OOTP uses the teams.csv to create the teams.

MASTER table
Batting Table
Pitching table
Fielding Table
Teams table
TeamFranchises table
FieldingOF table
ManagersHalf table
TeamsHalf table

Otherwise, I am not sure off the top of my (at work, don't have the game available to me).

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

What do i extract the MLB 2004 file to? Do I give it the a name?
By the way, When I extract the files from lahman, it shows them all being there but for some reason it won't creat the teams. I wil look it over again.

I have these files:

AllStar.csv
Awards manager.csv
Salaries.csv

and other files like that! So I can't figure out what went wrong.

I just download the file here at work. Unzip to a temp directory, then run the MLB 2004 for OOTP 6 Setup.exe

You can choose to install only the league files (to your OOTP directory) or everything. You will only need the league files though to play.

If you are still having trouble and no one else has been able to help, I will be on AIM later tonight and try to help then. I have a meeting at 1:30pm, so will probably be offline for the next couple hours.

Sorry I couldn't get you up and running.

Ok, I ran the set-up completely and it installed everything for the MLB2004 Installer. Now, do I need to try to open it as a regular league by using the Open League option on ootp6?
I just want to play using real players names, lol. Hopefully, I won't get a runtime error.
