Thinking of buying the game
i'm thinking of buying the boxing game and would appreciate some feedback as to what people think of it and if it is worth buying.

I would 100% say you will love this game. First off it is the most complete and detailed boxing game on the market. There are thousands of fighters to have face off. Everybody from John L. Sullivan to Vitali Klitschko and lots of fighters that most have never heard of as well. Not only is the game a blast but you learn alot about boxing history. This message board along with the dozen's of fan sites add to the enjoyment of the game. I have been playing the board game since 1979 and have had one version or another of the Trunzo's boxing game ever since. Rarely does a day go by that I am not tinkering with my boxing universe or simming matches. I'd buy it and get started and lock into the upgrade price , we have been told everything will be compatible with the new jazzed up version of the game. Feel free to stop by the board and become a regular. This is a great group we have here and most everyone will take the time to share tips, hints and fighters, photos to make the game even that more enjoyable.

Warning: I am biased.
If you like what-if matchups of fighters, or if you have an imaginative streak for setting up your own alternate realities: You should like this game. If you like arcade style, joystick games: Run away If you want a role-play game where you manage one or more fighters and want the CPU to handle the rest: wait a few months for the role play version to be released. Before you spend your hard earned cash, read through this forum over the past several months and read several of the stry lines in the "Against the Ropes" sections of the forum. There is a wealth of information here to help you make an informed decision. This game has been at the top of my playlist for ten months now. You would have to go back to the days of Links386Pro for a game that held my interest for this long at the top of the list.

Just buy the damn game.... quit stalling!!! You wont regret a second of it. If you dont buy it, I will come to your house, tie you up, and force you to watch reruns of Gilligans Island for several days!!!!

Would that mean a patch, or possibly the second version with the overhaul of cuts and swelling?

Hello Glen and welcome to our Little World As Andrea's suggested wait another week and then buy it, or at least download the free demo. *One man's meat is another mans poison* My own thoughts below from a previous thread. Jim we really do appreciate the boxing games you give us, as nothing on the market in my humble opinion comes close to giving me the enjoyment that i get from playing your game. After over 50 years of being a lover of the Fight Game. My heart still skips a few beats when i play your game and watch my all time favourite Randy Turpin fight my boyhood hero the late and great Sugar Ray Robinson. Don't get so disillusioned Jim, like all the great champs your just having a few bad rounds, but you will come through and take the Crown. |

The engine could not be better. It simulates a realistic repersentation of boxing. It's well worth the $35.
The outer 'shell' of the game is thin but not the main draw of the game. If you want flash and context then I would wait until the RP game. You pretty much just have to sim fights in a vaccum and use your imagination to simulate a league. But if you like that sort of thing then it will be no obstacle. I personaly can not wait for the RP version. I have been dreaming of a boxing RP game for years .
