Help Me... I've Errored And I Can't Get Up

Hi folks. In a previous thread I mentioned how OOTP6 kept crashing on me right after I finished a game. A few people suggested that this was the result of a known bug.... that it had something to do with the 'sound on option' and M/S XP service pack 2. If there is anything I can do to resolve this then please let me know. Although shutting off the sound is not an option..... there needs to be some form of ambience.

I've heard there is a way to uninstall SP-2 but don't really know the details you might try a search online for that.

Steve's idea might be worthwhile, assuming that you have another third-party firewall. If you don't, I'll also provide you with the most generic answer you could ask for ... and the only reason I'm doing it is that I've heard this is a problem while on other forums:

I've heard, yet not experienced, that when you install SP2 it sometimes automatically reloads the original drivers for various devices, instead of the updated drivers.

I'd recommend that you first try to manually update every driver you have. That - again according to other forums - can often resolve the issues with SP2

check out this thread in this forum.

some people say it was a sound problem but the pop up blocker makes the most sense, especially since the html box score pops up after the game concludes.

And here I thought that upgrading from ME to XP would solve all my compatibility issues.

I don't understand why shutting the sound off is not an option. I've never had the sound on. I just play music whenever I play the game.

Vesna31, I guess all that means is that we're different people. The sound is included as a part of the game and I want it.... you don't.... simple.

Either update your browser or change the browser that the game uses to open boxscores, etc.

If that would solve my problem, I would. But will it? And even more important is the question... how do I do it?

I don't know if it will or not. OPen OOTP, go to file menu, then game setup, it's there.

Service park 2 hasn't even been out for a month. How did you have it several months ago?

Perhaps I was mistaken then..... must've been ser. pack 1. The point is that everybody else is blaming this problem on ser. pack 2 and I don't have this and yet I'm still experiencing the shutdown problem.

Did you try the suggestions about the browser that I gave above?
